It’s the list that you love to hate. As MTV prepareshttp://rapradar.com/2012/01/23/mtv-preps-2011-hottest-mc-list/ for their annual Hottest MCs List of last year, they have just announced a list of nominees. The top 10-6 will each be revealed next week and the remaining 5 on Sunday, February 19th at 10:30 p.m. on MTV2. Your 25 nominees are after the jump.

2 Chainz
50 Cent
Big Sean
Common
Drake
Eminem
Fabolous
French Montana
Jadakiss
JAY-Z
Jim Jones
Kanye West
Lil Wayne
Lloyd Banks
Maino
Meek Mill
Nas
Nicki Minaj
Red Café
Rick Ross
T.I.
Wale
Wiz Khalifa
Yelawolf
Young Jeezy

No Kendrick Lamar.  No Big KRIT.  No J. Cole.  But Red Cafe, Maino and French Montana made it, so it balances out

Kendrick Lamar is debatable. He is hit or miss to me personally... but the lack of Dom or Gibbs or KRIT is straight blasphemy.

and I'm sorry. Common isn't a "hot" MC right now. Celebrate was cool. Sweet was cool. But if the names missing on that list aren't "hot" then he sure as hell isn't.

And if French is on that list, Flocka should be on there. Cause when it comes down to it, dude STAYS dropping heat.

Even accounting for record spins, this list doesn't make any sense.

I also find it REMARKABLY interesting that they never count Flo-Rida...but dude is probably taking massive dumps on all of them.  Dude is actually a great artist IMO. Hes not a singer. Hes a pop-rapper, but hes very good at what he does.

Future ain't hot? ...aight.

Dude has like 5 massive songs right now.

Artists that mattered the most last year... not a good look for hip hop

Complete list given is poor/incomplete to begin with

No Kendrick? No Future? Terrible

And to the guy above me...crossing out Nicki....on hottest MC lists.....when she just performed at the Super Bowl?

Yeah Red Cafe because of one single, Jada, Jim Jones who hasnt had a hit since "ballin", Lloyd Banks, Yelawolf, Jeezy and a bunch of others are definitely hotter than J.Cole and Kendrick right now.

Give me a break...those 2 guys are all over the radio and blogs non-stop right now. How can they not even be nominated. Cole just got a grammy nomination as well for gods sake.

And i never complain about lists in these kind of threads...but that is absurd.

im upset dawg lol

like this list dont mean isssh but for certain ppl to be left off and certain ppl on...like WTH are you doing MTV

No Cole, KRIT, Kendrick....

but French Montana, Meek Mill, Yelawolf???
Lloyd Banks, Manio, Red Cafe??

50 Cent Fabolous Jadakiss?? really?

Wale and Big Sean deserving i guess but they aint even hot like that...and hasnt it been hella long since Wiz been hot?

Out of the ten I didn't cross out, which should be replaced by Nicki?

The "hottest" of last year. J Cole should be up there too w/ the buzz he obtained. Kendrick shouldn't be there YET. KRIT is debatable.

MTV Jamz would say different though...

KRIT Definitely has videos on that channel.

Like I said, its whatever. In the south especially, KRIT is that gem and EVERYONE knows it. I guarantee that whoever MTV has around that table when they do the showing of the list will all have KRIT on their personal lists. Especially dudes like Sway and Shaheem Reid (sp?).

I've heard from people that its Dom's reluctance to kiss ___ that has prevented him from getting major shine like he deserves too.

Time for a "Real Talk"
Eminem's sheer existence pisses me off at times these days.

Dude is trash. Lyrically if I can get "on' by rapping about raping my baby mother and killing my maternal mother while putting in rhymes about my feces and urine, then I QUIT.

Having "flow" doesn't give you a license to make it SUCK.

A black rapper would NOT get away with that crap...and YES i'm rehashing that tired argument.

Asher Roth, Action Bronson, and Yelawolf are bringing FAR more diversity and talent to the game than him and have for YEARS.

Debatable? He arguably had the best cd of 2011. He also murked every feature in 2011.

Can't STAND Kendrick Lamar.

Dude thinks rapping fast makes you "dope" now.

He just doesn't have "it" to me.

Theres no degree of "artistry" to him in my eyes.

Him and J Cole are in the same boat of uncharismatic rappers with cult fans.
