My Daughter has a Cell phone Vol. Over protective??

I have 2 children and my son is 8 while my daughter is 6. I've given both of them cell phones and they are pretty good with them. My son actually knows howto text on his cell phone. He's texted me and my wife a few times. I don't think you're being overprotective at all. We live in a cruel world soyou gotta protect your fam.

I'm 27 and my daughter is 10 years old...we got her a cell phone last year when she started riding the bus to and from school...it's for peace ofmind...I was against the whole riding the bus situation at first, but she wanted to and she seems to enjoy the bus ride...we drop her off every morning at thebus stop and wait until she is picked up...my moms picks her up from her bus stop everyday...the cell phone was purchased for those "just in case"moments...as for the people responding with "it's too early", they must not be in the same situation...
