my first post! dillemma about going home to philippines..

well this is my first post in niketalk so this could be a memorable moment (sarcasm) But actually I'm so excited about going to philippines again after 9 months (yes 9 months) but after i got this conversation with one of my old cousin it kinda mess things up for me.. this foo was cussing me out in tagalog of course talking about how i better call him when i get there and the thing that piss me off the most is when he said not ask but he said that he wants a blue nike not made in china but made in U.S.

and he knows the difference of the shoes that is bought in the bangketa.. hahahaha

and he said that it better be some nikes or else hes gon throw it away in the ocean..


that type of @#%$ really got to me and just make me not want to come home at all... seriously last time i came home i was all about making my little cousins happy because they never had anytime to eat at jolibee cuz of how life is over there so everyday i was buying them jolibbe and even took them out to laguna and rented a private pool and stuff like that.. but this guy just ruined my trip for asking such a thing...

my question is how can i just take my trip there and not worry about this guy? i know when i get there hes gon ask for it and of course i aint giviing him @#%$ but i just dont want to hear him cussing at me and telling me that im weak and im from the u.s. and i cant buy him shoes.. any suggestions? pls no flame guys..

My view? It's your vacation, just do what you want. If you're gonna live with your cousins, and that's why you feel some guilt or obligation to buy stuff for them, then king is right. Just rent your own place. It doesn't cost that much, and the stress you save yourself will more than make it worth the cost. If he still asks for it, then just tell him "tough". People can only get away with what you let them.

dude.. this guy works for the intelligence of the philippine army.. i guess the CIA of the philippines...i actually got my own place in mandaluyong.. but he's the only problem.. my other cousins are young... like 7 to 11 yrs old.. so i dont mind buying them stuff and taking them out on a daily basis cuz i want them to have what they dont get everyday.. i can kinda afford because i have a "all right" job and im starting to save up already... but its just that one incident where that "cousin" now knows that im going to be in the phillipines soon and hes gon bring his kids and his mom to try to get something from me and my girl... guys.. my family there is... whats the word im looking for... umm i think its called "GARAPAL"... my mom has 13 bros and sis and not including the people in my province.... anyways... any thoughts again guys?

but guys.. this guy could really help me out mayne.. when i arrive at the airport.. since he works for the military.. dat means that i dont have to stand in the immigration line.. well of course i have to get that stamped in my passport and also he can just tell whoever works there to give us help with our luggages since i have 2 kids and 1 is a 3 month old baby.. anyways.. hopefully it wont turn out to be a disaster..

It seems that you have some resistance to solutions to your problem, but let me try some other suggestions just to give you other alternatives:

1) You can hire a porter to help you with your baggage once you get to the carousels. DON'T give them the money until they help you tow them out to the waiting area at the curb. About $1 is usually fine, more if you want their attention right away.

2) Immigration lines are long during the holidays, but trust me, unless you know someone directly in immigration, its still gonna take some time. They hurry it along anyway for the holiday crush.

3) If you happen to accidentally leave *wink wink* $5 in your passport when you hand it over to customs when it comes time to inspect your baggage, they coincidentally forget to open your luggage and send you on your way.

4) I have three words for you that you should always stick to when it comes to your kids here: ONLY BOTTLED WATER. Don't let them take anything not branded or from tap.
