Now ... my advice to you is to think real hard about it and if ull still like it in the future ... i suggest u sit on the idea for half a year to a year and see if it changes. Second ... are u fully grown yet? Dun want ur skin stretching etc ...

Now .. the pain factor ... before I got mine, and from what my friends told me .. i thought that it would be a walk in the park and was even thinking about sleeping through it. I took it in a one and first time 5 hour session which is pretty good, seeing as most do it in 2-3 hour sessions and some go as far as passing out from the pain. I got it on the upper back so on the shoulder blades, spine etc ... and I can honestly tell you that it hurt like a mutha! Prob the most painful thing i've ever experienced. Since u gonna get it on ur ribs .. im thinking that itll hurt as much or even more .. .so just beware ... if ur not very tolerant with pain ... u should rethink the location ... i think the arms etc dun hurt much cos of the meat there.

So basically .. the advice i can give u is .. think it thru, sit on the idea for a while, and ask urself if u can stand hours of constant pain. btw the pain i felt .. felt like the dude was dragging hot razors over my back for the entire 5 hours .. but it hurts more at the beginning (outline) and the end (shading the dark parts)

Regarding the skin stretching, your skin is constantly renewing itself and it will change with age regardless. Unless you plan to become a body-builder, your not going to be able to grow fast enough to distort the tattoo in any way...

About the pain, for me, it'll be noticeable for the first 20 minutes or so but after that, the endorphin's tend to come in and its not as bad. The ribs, I haven't got that done yet but my one of my female friends just got hers, a medium-sized quote. I went with her and it wasn't terrible but its no walk in the park. Tattoo last a lifetime, the pain will only be a few hours, you can make it...

Cool .. I wasnt sure about the stretching part, but I've noticed the tatts on my friends who got it when they were young like 15 etc .. they all lookkinda faded and stretched.

But one more thing is as someone else mentioned ... a tattoo is for life .. don't go cheap on it. I spent about $900 on mine.

900?damn its a good thing mt tattoo artist is also a friend of mine...he did both of my forearm pieces..one for 150(a rendition if the 'Uptown SaturdayNight' painting) and the other for 200(St.Michael slaying Lucifer)

Yeah, they'll fade with time but you can always get them touched up. In regards to the stretching, if its REALLY bad, it can be fixed up. I know one ofthe artist I go to was telling me that about every 10 or so years, he'll just get everything touched up or re-inked. He's about 60+ and his stuff stilllooks kick-***...
