Just take off as soon as he checks the ball back to you and dunk it. I'm laughing but dude's screen name is literally one of my email addresses (full disclosure never reached 50 but got to a legit early mid 40s max jump with runup) and at one point in my life feel like I was a bad enough man I could get buckets on anyone.

Like really just to get 1 in 10 tries, you can make a drive move then jumpstop/pumpfake (like Klay always does) and I bet you he jumps or freezes then pivot into a shot around the basket or at least have more room.

He's a physical freak of nature with elite lateral quickness, strength, hand speed, anticipation/intelligence, and 6'11" wingspan. I don't know what gives you the dumb idea that you'd ever be able to beat him off the dribble or get a shot over him even 1 out of 10 times when the best players in the world struggle to do it.

Nobody's perfect. Brom came down in game 2 and actually lost the ball and turned that into a crossover running at him.

You could probably get bim off his feet or to lunge witb a hesi (like Steph has been doing all playoffs and imo double dribbling or discontinued dribbling). Any move you do probably only works once though because he'll recognize and make the mental note that with his likelt superior size and athleticism he doesn't have to bite on fakes

The dumber is idea is people who can't seem to fathom that Iggy isn't playing these best players in the world 1-on-1 in a half court setting. The results wouldn't be as skewed in Iggy's favor I'll assure you. Your defensive capability and how you are forced to play it changes a great deal when you play with a team and can rely on help. Iggy is an elite defender no doubt but why the hell are people comparing what a person does in 5-on-5 defensive scheme to a person defending the entire half court space during a game of 1-on-1? There is no correlation. Them Sports Science features got dudes shook.

Any well conditioned person with an above average basketball skill set doesn't get snuffed 10-0 in a game of 1-on-1. And I'm not even speaking about myself, just speaking in general. If someone else were to make that claim I wouldn't find it far fetched. I just don't believe there is a 10-0 disparity from an "elite" basketball athlete/player to an above average one.

I don't know why you're so hung up on the entire half court space. What exactly do you plan on doing, running in circles around the court until he gets tired? Bad news, he has elite conditioning too. In addition to the fact that he can cover more ground than you. And could pick your pocket with ease if your plan is to dribble around.

I don't know why you think 1 on 1 instead of 5 on 5 is to your advantage. It isn't.

Also you breezed right past the question of how tall you are.

I'm not even talking ish though, I'm speaking purely in principle. Would say the same when I'm not behind the screen. 1 out of 10? I'd embrace that challenge against anyone any day.

    6'3"

Pick pocket with ease? So now no one can keep the ball away from him either? You talk as if you know me. No one goes out and rips a person the entirety of a competition anyway. And if you think dribbling in circles is what I meant by space then you lost me a long time ago.

So you're giving up a height advantage. How exactly do you expect to get enough separation to get a shot off without being either stripped on the way up or blocked altogether?

Is your ballhandling tight enough to dribble against his pressure without being ripped?

Have you ever been guarded by a player that was several inches taller & more athletic than you?

Yes, pick your pocket with ease.

I know that you don't have a single advantage over him in any way, shape, or form. You sound ridiculous.

Iggy's an NT'er lol you know he reading this....

    with that said though....10 tries???

Yup i'm confident I could get at least 1.

Just gotta measure him the first couple tries, see how he react to the jumper, how he react to the pump fake, see how he play me with my back to the basket, or just shoot one over him and hope it drop.

He's tall but theres spots around the rim if you get to he wont be able to block your shot.

1 on 1 its all about gauging the defender and anticipation, if you can be 1 step ahead or have counters for your moves you can score on iggy too.

The last thing a disciplined defender wants to do is go for a steal attempt against someone that could possibly get by him or could use that miscue to their advantage to set up a shot attempt. I'd welcome it.

As for having any advantages, I don't need any advantages. I just need one bucket! It's crazy because just I as ridiculous as I may sound to you, you probably sound even more ridiculous to me. Iggy is a great defender but he isn't perfect. A seasoned baller of any kind would find a way to score a basket without getting washed 10-0. What don't people get about that?

    Exactly.

Dude is a helluva of defender but he isn't perfect. After some trial and error he'd slip up enough to get a least a couple of decent looks. But I sound crazy when I talk like this...:rolleyes

Its not even really about him "slipping up" either, its just being able to get a decent shot off or get him out of position.....

however THAT INDIVIDUAL may do so....

now the keyboard warriors (and/or midgets lol) in here who hoop once a month or even once a week can't comprehend this.

this is part of my highlight video package i had from back in the day for colleges. even despite these skills, i know i couldn't score on Iggy. especially since i got bad knees and now bball shorts are so long. tougher to move in them. totally effed my game up.

I'm not even sure which of these things is the funniest:

    1. The idea that an NTer has the strength to back him down.

    2. The idea that an NTer has the length and athleticism to shoot over him.

    3. The idea that an NTer could put the ball on the floor against him without getting it stolen.

    4. The idea that an NTer has the quickness to drive past him.

    5. The idea that even if an NTer got a step on him that he wouldn't be able to easily recover.
