Btw, here is the schedule of the replay of the finals:

Game 1 - Oct. 14, 3:30pm
Game 2 - Oct. 15, 3:30pm
Game 3 - Oct. 21, 3:00pm

This will be on Studio 23.

CCL Update.

the tigers were in control of the game building several double digit leads when jojo duncil had an altercation with a jru heavy bomber late in the second quarter that triggered the fracas sending jun dizon and mel gile early to the locker room...

the biggest blow came in before halftime when jervy cruz was called for consecutive unsportsmanlike fouls joining dizon and gile in the sidelines for the rest of the game...

jojo duncil tried to carry the load for ust but jru kept on coming back with mark caguco's three consecutive triples in one stretch...

lo and behold, from a 51-61 ust lead, the heavy bombers slowly but surely tied the game with under four minutes to play.. dylan ababou's two free throws put ust on top again, 63-61 but jru scored the last four points while ust bungled two fastbreak plays and all their perimeter attempts either rimmed out or went short until the final buzzer...

ust just couldn't shoot.. even duncil's shots were not falling when they needed them most in an awry picture reminiscent of jc intal's flubbed lay-ups in the uaap finals game 3...


Time to go back to the drinking sessions, Tigers!

what's the deal with UE's Custodio i heard that he was already banned in UAAP, NCAA, PBA, PBL, for tossing a game against UST..

from what i know he accepted 200G's & a small SUV for doing that??
 
^ read in the paper he's in the pbl drafted by the magnolia team coached by koy banal and in coop w/ the beda tigers they also drafted jonas villanueva from feu whom banal coached prior to this year...tsk MjdKing ung laging nakasimangot na UE is Elmer Espiritu...sayang nga dinyung dadak ni intal na between the legs pero i only like him for his dunks not his game..di ako atenista eh hehe UST student to..

Distrito a star cager in jail

IT was an impromptu dinner invitation from longtime friends Elmer Yanga - this seasons UAAP commissioner - and his wife Esper.

Elmer said they were at a coffee shop along West Avenue -a place called Pastry Passion which is owned by daughter-in-law Shirley Santos-Yanga and is just a stones throw from where I live.

If youre at home and not doing anything, please join us for pasta, pastries, and a long overdue chat, said Elmer.

Since we had not gotten together for some time and the couple had motored all the way from their Cainta residence, I did not hesitate to say yes.

There was indeed a lot of chatting to catch up on. Just before the opening of the 2006 UAAP season, Elmer and Esper had flown to New York to attend their eldest son Jomers wedding. Before that, they made a side trip to Los Angeles and Carson City where they visited the Distritos.

Sadly, Rudy is still serving time in a Las Vegas jail while his wife Jo is working triple time to support their children and raise money for legal services.

Rudys incarceration has become much bearable, they said, ever since he started playing his favorite game with cellmates.

According to Elmer, two basketball teams play regularly in the Las Vegas jail. One is composed of Latinos, the other black Americans. Members of the two squads would constantly curry favors with Rudy, both fighting for his services.

Rudy has achieved star status on account of his cage prowess, Elmer said. Distrito makes a difference for the team he chooses to play for, he explained.

The Yangas were given the real dope on the Distrito case but they said this was not for public sharing.

While in New York, Elmer said he managed to touch base with former PBA cager Yoyoy Villamin who is now based there.

Yoyoy works as a driver in Brooklyn, I just forgot to ask if he was driving a taxi, a bus, or a private vehicle.

Long retired from RFM corporation where he was assigned by Joey Concepcion to look after his PBA team as manager and governor for more than a decade, Elmer is happy to be reactivated.

Theres going to be a ninth team in the PBL this season, Elmer happily announced. RFM is joining the league as a guest team which will carry Joey Concepcions popcorn product called Kettlecorn. I will be involved in the team.

Kettlecorn will be composed of UST players, the 2006 UAAP champions.

A popular UAAP cager, who played in this seasons finale, has incurred the ire of a PBL team owner who now has mixed emotions about the guy.

While the owner wants the cager badly, he is also completely turned off by his off-court antics.

He has an attitude problem. He has cancelled two meetings with my team manager. He tells people he doesnt need to play in the PBL, because hell still be the first pick even if he goes straight from the collegiate league to the pros. That boy thinks hes Gods gift to basketball, the owner said.

Magnolia completed a casting coup as it grabbed two of the finest UAAP players during yesterdays PBL Rookie Draft even as team manager Peter Martin announced their new tie-up with NCAA champion San Beda for the coming Silver Cup.

Already a power to reckon with after getting the core of the Red Lions, Magnolia expectedly made Jonas Villanueva of Far Eastern University as the overall top pick and University of the East top gunner Bonbon Custodio the No. 3 pick, thus making the Spinners the team to beat in the season-opening tournament.

Villanueva and Custodio will thus play along with San Bedas Alex Angeles, John Paul Escobal, Reigo Gamalinda, Kevin Ray Espinosa, Jed Micah Evangelista, Rogemar Menor, Kristoffer Taupa, Eduardo Tecson, Jay Taganas and possibly the 6-foot-8 Samuel Ekwe.

Magnolia also boasts of Jeff Chan, another star player from FEU who can play both inside and outside with dexterity.

Martin, however, stressed that their tie-up with San Beda is only for a two-year program since FEU is still in the rebuilding stage. FEU disbanded its squad following a disappointing showing in the recent UAAP tournament.

"Most of the FEU players are new, theyre not yet eligible to play in the PBL thats why were tapping the services of San Beda players," said Chito Loyzaga, PBL chairman and San Miguel Corporation representative to the board.

The Spinners also surprised the other participating teams when they picked Japeth Aguilar in the second round of the dispersal draft. Aguilar is reportedly playing for western Kentucky, a Division I school in the US NCAA.


Plus, UE won the CCL.

if he isn't eligible no more in the uaap plus i think they drafted japeth in case he came back?
haha highly unlikely would love to see/watch his games here though
