Need some advice for a desktop PC

Got a virus on my old one and it fired it. In the market for a new one that will be a good one but nothing extraordinary in regards to speed. Not a gamer justa regular user. Doesn't need a ton of bells and whistles but also wants to be up to speed with technology. Thinking of going the Tiger Direct route just toget what I need

a virus shouldn't take you down.......google search for malwarebytes, run it, it should get rid of it......
