For the sake of discussion I can't think of two more high profile sporting events to do that then the CFB Playoffs and the Super Bowl...If I'm Nike I'm not going to risk my 2017 cleat and apparel line on unproven rookies in a non star or highly marketable NFL Draft Class. One of the higher name athletes in the class, Fournette has already signed with UA. I would really like to know what Nike Football marketing strategy is right now. Manziel was rocking the Alpha Elite in Miami for the Opening workouts. Looked like a couple of the Elite 11 QB's were rocking them as well.
Depends on how much you want to spend. As for thigh pads, I wouldn't even wear them as a wr (I barely like to wear em as a LB) but if you insist, get a nike pro combat girdle with pads built in or the UA equivalent.
Check out your local Marshalls or Ross for the Nike Pro Combat girdles. They are the ones with the carbon fiber thigh pads - they are usually $9-12 dollars. Shoulder pads are per the player - I've heard good things about Schutt and Gear Tec pads. Best way is to go to your local sporting goods store and try them on. As a WR you want to have shoulder pads that don't restrict your range of motion and are light weight all while offering the protection level you feel comfortable with.
Cosign on the shoulder pad info. $150-$200 can get you a decent set but that depends on your definition of decent. I might actually be copping a set of the gear pro tec razor 7 pads this year but those are pricey.

FML...I was wanting to buy some Pros too...SMH. Hope everyone's orders went through. That is a major, MAJOR come up. Looks like they are all cleaned out of the first wave of color ways for the Pros. Random cleat restocks have been going on...yesterday they had one pair of Vapor Ultimates. Today they have a pair of Vapor Carbon Fly 2s and some Vapor Carbon Elite 14s. Must be cleaning out the stock.

I'm not sure what Nike's marketing scheme is for football right now. They have buzz for Ross running a 4.2 and have camps for the Opening. My guess would be, whatever new gear they are coming out with will be for the Summer. Probably around the Opening and Elite 11. I really hope we see a speed cleat with full length Zoom or forefoot Zoom. If that UB cleat is any good I could see adidas using Boost in all of their cleats moving forward. Even when they put Zoom in the OG Vapor's you could barely feel it. Not to mention it was in the heel and when you are a speed player you shouldn't be playing on your heels any ways.
I got mine too! but the real steal of a lifetime was those white untouchable 1s that were selling on ebay for $70-$100 hahaha they weren't general release and resellers that bought them from ross/marshall/tj maxx didnt understand the value
