They tried to go luxury with the 2. Didn't work. They went for function & style for the 3 tho! It worked.
I think one big thing that hurt the II was no original black and red colorway. What was the most memorable I? The one closest associated with MJ's Bulls colors. The price hike also didn't help the II, nor did the fact that MJ had just come off a season where he spent most of it on the shelf. The II was a weird microcosm of things that were just "off," I think, but Tinker got it back on track with the III. And nearly 30 years later, we finally did get a black and red colorway for the Deuces. Better late than never, I guess. I actually really do like the Alt II from last year; it's a highly underrated colorway IMO. I just have never gotten a pair because of so much other heat that dropped between then and now. One of these days, though, I'm gonna log on to GOAT and bite the bullet.
Man you older heads are lucky. I wish i was born ten years earlier, instead of 88 i would of preferred 78. In 1990 i would of just hit my teenage years and got to live through a great era. the 90s was a great era. Anyways I'm enjoying life now.
Now that I recall, I remember my mom got me a Nike shirt suit that I wore with my Metallic 5s too lol. I believe it was a black Nike shirt with neon green Nike shorts. I thought i was the dopest kid on the block rocking that outfit lmao
I agree 100%. Nike, probably never a black and red colorway, because it wasn't going to be rocked by MJ. Since at the time, the Bulls only rocked white shoes. Plus, the weird NBA rules at the time. Me personally, I've never really been a fan of the II. When I first seen them, back in the mid 90's, they looked like Fila's to me. This was because of the red wings design, on the heels. Nowadays, outside of the OG White/Black & White/Red's, this is the only colorway of the 2's that I've ever liked.
Some people say these fit tight, but both V's and IV's have always been pretty much TTS for me, and these are no different.
Realizing I should have went .5 down. Roomy in the toebox for me. Then again I think I'm just realizing that I'm a tue 10.5, not 11 because everything has been fitting .5 size small lately. Bottom line: I'm salty
I'd pick the 2007's every time, unless you're planning to get some 2011's and beat them into the ground. For one, the upper material on the 2007's is basically that year's equivalent of Nike's Durabuck formula, which I liked better than the Nubuck they used on the 2011's. For two, even if the 2011's are DS, over time they tend to get a weird white, mold like residue on parts of the midsoles and outsoles. The 2011's are not collector's pieces. I sold all but 1 pair of mine when the OG black V's were released last year.
Yea 2011 upper was fuzzy trash compared to 2007. Jb was at its peak of quality around those times it was obvious. I wouldn't purchase 2011s for under retail. 2011-2012 where the worst quality wise from jb.
