The new Fall '09 line of Football cleats are up at Eastbay. Here's the link: http://www.eastbay.com/catalog/adva...d--cleats/sport--Football/brand--Nike/#page:1 Some of the highlights: LDT's Signature Super Speed D(Detachable)3/4 Super Speed TD
If so, my mistake...with baseball and the NBA Playoffs going on,as well as my own seasons, I haven't been checking Eastbay as regularly as I normallydo! So, I apologize if this is old news!
Where are the ones Rey Malaguia was wearing during the Rose Bowl? The black and white ones? I think they were Superbads?
SuperBad 2 Which is very interesting, because in the MLB cleat thread, it has been found that Jermaine Dye of the White Sox has been wearing a baseball version of these:
Anyone notice that some of these pics have a mini soccer tongue, as the LSU samples did? Actually the whole upper is a little different
Just so as to not get too redundant...Any time that the Ducks are wearing Yellow, (Lightning), accented cleats, they are most definitely not General Release. Bowl Game Vapor Jet ... Apocalypse IV Vick IV and Oregon State Sports Bra Unis ... Zoom Assassin Nike Super Speed D 3/4 ... Vapor Jet PE Vapor Jet Oregon PE That is the main reason as to why I love them and their uniforms. They push the envelope with reckless abandon. Unfortunately, I am well aware that we Duck lovers are the minority! However, I could stand a little less diamond plating and Belotti Bold! Otherwise, Beautiful!
Probably my second favorite cleats of all time...my first being these from 1997... #16, the stud in the forground, is wearing them. I don't recall what their name was but they were the flagship cleat for that season before theApocalypse line started. The pic, a proof, does not do them justice. There is 3M all over the place and they were just slick! I remember seeing them on New Years Day of 1997 when allof the Bowl games were on thinking to myself...those are mine next season! They also made them in a turf version and of all people, John Wallace of Syracuse wore them for basketball! I stand corrected...Those are the Turf versions of Nike flagship cleat from 1995. He wore them throughout the NCAA tourney in 1996 ebentually losing to theDenim-clad Kentucky Wildcats. Notice the Columbia XI's on Lazarus Sims to the right of Wallace, as well as the Zoom Flight 95's behind him! Here are the Detachable football versions of those shoes on the fullback #34?:
Stephen Jackson wore those all year last year, including the great Nike commercial starring he and Shawn Merriman, however they remind me of a lower-endShark model or even softball cleats. Actually, if you guys out there can find more mini-camp pics, post them so that we can start a thread similar to the MLB theme! Or simply post your favoritecleats from your playing days...you already know mine.
MPowers16 is correct, the Ducks cleats will never be a general release. What a shame. I'm sure they'd be on a lot of guys' feetif they were. GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!
Wow, look at the Super Bad 1's that the be-hatted player between the two lineman is wearing! Great Pics, M.O.O.! By the way, I'm sure that you're aware of it, but you share your Screenname with the title of one of the best books on Nike that I've come across! As for SCuse7's question, I seem to remember 5/1 as being the initial offer date! Don't quote me on that though! Also, what I find interesting in this pic: The only other player that I have seen wearing this facemask, on a Non-Schutt DNA helmet is Amani Toomer:
MPowers16, I'm glad that you enjoyed that book. It's certainly an informative one. And yes, "Men of Oregon" is the name thatMr. Bowerman gave his runners at the University of Oregon. And since Phil is our company's founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors, it was onlyfitting to use that screenname. According to some of the employees(past & present), Phil treats that school as if it were one of his own children. To sayPhil is a fan of the school is an extreme UNDERSTATEMENT. That is why they were the first school to get the Air Zoom Super Bad, and the only team in the nationwho gets to put their logo and colors on them.
That is why they were the first school to get the Air Zoom Super Bad, and the only team in the nation who gets to put their logo and colors onthem I ABSOLUTElY love that tiny detail associated with Oregon's teams! Even the Forearm Compression Sleeves and Ankle Braces bear the stylized OregonO!
At the risk of this turning into an "Oregon Appreciation Post", my case in point: #54 is wearing Lebron 4's in an exclusive Oregon PE colorway: Malik Hairston in Kobe Twos, although methinks that they are ID's not PE's His famous Lebron 2's Another pair of speed vapors:
