Ok guys, lets try something new, post your opinion on the health bill.
If you are making a starting point FOR the bill post in BLUE, if you are AGAINST then use RED

So is health care a right or a privilege?

Should the government take money from X and give it to Y? What if person X decides not to work, are they now responsible for person Y's health care disappearing?

Is a person's health more important than another's wealth? Sure it is you may say, but should the person who spent 6 years in college, & worked their butts off through out their lives be paying for that person who decided to be lazy?

Why are the smarter people being punished for the general well being? If some of the smart people decide not to pursue wealth because of the tight grip the government has then wouldn't that be counter productive? Especially towards our economy and GDP.

No one take this stuff personal, just a real discussion about politics.

while ive always known the "red" point of view, you managed to word it in a lucid and sensitive way. i appreciate your post.

What about the instance of Person Y becoming ill and unable to work anymore. So ill that all his savings are depleted and he isn't allowed to work. Then what? Person Y's experience can happen to anyone. Not everyone is lazy, man. That's also why there are regulations to government policies. For instance, unemployment. You can't stay on it forever.

Think of it as social security. When you get old, you wan't to collect social security correct? So you pay into it now. Same with health care, you may have health care now, but your future isn't set in stone.

rich =/= smarter or more hard working.....

So no I will not discuss what you are asking because you have a ridiculous view of what wealth means...

Because of 1% tax over every dollar over 350k people will no longer want to be rich...

I will deflect your questions, with more questions. What about the children who are born into these circumstances? Should they be punished for simply being born?
