On Valentine’s Day 1993, 17-year-old Bethel High School basketball star Allen Iverson was bowling in Hampton, Va., with five high school friends. It was supposed to be an ordinary evening, but it became a night that defined Iverson’s young life. not a story really, but..

For those who were there at McDonough Gymnasiumon August 4, 1994, few will forget the arrival of a 6-0 freshman guardwho needed no introduction. The rumors of Allen Iverson's arrival tothe Kenner Summer League were true, and by game's end, Iverson hadscored 40 points. By the Sunday afternoon final, before an overflowcrowd inside the gym and a crowd of those outside who could not get in,Iverson finished a combined 99 point effort in three days against someof the best collegiate talent in the city. This, of course, from aplayer that had not played organized basketball in over a year.

The Allen Iverson years had begun.

Everyone has a story about what went on that day, but that's the only one (in an article) i can find right now

Can't wait to see this.

Its not all about Iverson though.

Its more of a story about the town and not Allen.
