Nikon D40, Guy wants to sell it for $65 but i thought it was the other 50mm f 1.4 that would actually meter w/ my cam thats why im hesitant an askin

I say save your money. I mean I don't know for a fact on that specific lens but I have put an old Nikon film lens on my D90 and the output was pretty bad. Save the $65 and get yourself the 35mm 1.8G.

Since you have a cropped body camera, the 35mm will be equivalent to a 50mm on a full frame camera. Plus it has auto focus and is specifically made for cameras like what you and I have. It's a little more expensive but well worth the money.

 $210 is a bit much for now but thanks alot ill take that into consideration, just thought i was getting a deal n the pics would come out nice, I mean worse case scenario i would just resell the lens for a bit more if i didn't really like it...but idk
