NT Help..I'm Getting Sued..

Few misconceptions in this thread...
1) the time between filing and when the court is bought to case depeends on the speed of your state/districts legal system. RI courts have a 1 yr (at least)wait unless you get an emergency push through..

2) injuries aren't always immediate..everyone has experienced working out or something happening and you feel fine, the next day you feel like %+*$..

The case will depend on what her lawyer and your lawyer can do...def consult a lawyer ASAP..good luck

To help with the story.... I was in the car with my friend. It was my car and I was in the passenger (I didn't have a license). So basically, my insurancecompany called me and told me that we are getting sued. They also told us that they have a lawyer for us already.

The accident itself was pretty tame. My friend was backing out of the spot (how fast can one speed out of a parking spot??) but didn't notice her. Thesecond before we hit, I noticed her stopped behind us and yelled out to try to make him stop. So we hit. My friend pulls forward back into the parking spot.She gets out, we get out, she yells at him, I'm looking at the dent that was on her right rear door and the lack of damage on my back bumper. A police ladywas passing by and she took down a report. It was our fault that we hit her, but these other damages that she brings up are kind of ridiculous.

I also just found out that she was a part of another accident in 2006 (ours took place in late November 2005) in which she is suing the other party for THATaccident.

I've never been sued before so this is kind of jolting and with finals coming up I'm pissed at what seems like nothing more than a waste of time. Myhead is occupied with this suit when I should be worrying about my exams.

Just for future references. Take photos next time something like this happens. That should be more than enough proof since this is a he said/she said type ofdeal. Less than minor damage that you guys claim doesn't seem like it could cause that delusional lady any of that crap she's been claiming.
