NT look out for a brother

I just got an iPhone 3g that had the screen cracked, today I got the screen fixed. Now iTunes will not let me restore, keep getting errors and what not. 
The phone stays on the connect to itunes screen. Who knows what to do at this point? 
Someone help me out

The internal system of the phone might have been damage when the screen was cracked.
