Anyway, sorry cant help with browser stuff. Can you have your ISP block all adult sites? Mine can do that.
I'm just wrapping Android tablets I got my kids for Christmas and they come with an app where you can lock out apps - and then I downloaded SafeBrowser which is basically a browser with all the safety features permanently on their highest setting.
Don't know if you can do something similar on a PC though.

Best tool I've come across is OpenDNS.

It allows you to block specific sites, or various categories of questionable content.

I haven't caught viruses from porn in a long time.

Have you tried directing him to "clean" sites.

No porn to a younger kid will be devastating.
