I'm a little confused as to why they're confused by this, Most of these social media platforms utilize the small users to grow the company, clean the platform & then look to sell to corporate america for big money.
To my Knowledge only fans was never intended to be a site for sex workers in the first place, sex workers sort of just adopted the platform.

It's not that simple or it would have been done. Other sites like Fancentro exist. Once OF went mainstream because of sex work it was only a matter of time before this switch up or got shut down completely which they are trying to avoid. Look at Pr0nhub's recent issues. Before that Backpage got shut down and CL removed personals.

Coinbase, cash app etc still still have to follow the same "rules" and still use a similar line of thinking as traditional companies. It's the politicians/law makers, old money and law enforcement that are the problem not middle men like payment processors/VCs. Once you start doing business with certain industries like sex work it invites more scrutiny/liability. Especially with sex trafficking/child pr0n.

i haven’t looked into that deep, but from the little I’ve read they didn’t expect the level of public sympathy for the sex workers and now they’re trying pivot their strategy
but it seems like typical loud conservative minority trying pull bully moves and people are finally getting slightly smarter to how disingenuous that all is

In a utopian world yes, knowing the reality of the world No.
These are businesses they have no feelings, there main goal is to generate as much money as possible. So if i put myself in the business owners shoes i see why they move the way they move.
Unless OF reworked the numbers & realized that they would indeed be bringing in more money by allowing porn, then folding on your plan due to some backlash from sex workers is ridiculous.
