OFFICIAL 2009/2010 EPL Season Post

Robinho is the most dynamic player they have. Chaos ensues for opposing defenders whenever he gets the ball.

He is to City what Ronnie was to Man Utd. what Ronaldinho was to Barca, what Messi is to Barca right now, what Kaka was to AC Milan.

He can explode at any time and make something out of nothing. None of Man City's attackers can do what he does.

yea but although not as talented overall, freekick wise and dribbling or fast tevez, adebayor and roque can put the ball into the net as proficiently.

not like city dont have adequate cover for robinho with roque, tevez, adebayor and that welsh chav bellamy...even benjani.
laugh.gif
how you gonna call bellamy a chav when your hero waynerooney is the biggest chav in the epl

Adebayor is the biggest piece of garbage on the planet. Idk how the official can be as close as he was to the face stomp he put on Van Persie and not doanything. He should have been redded right there. Then to call out Arsenal's fans before the game and go celebrate in front of them. The guy openly courteda move to Barca or Milan last year, proceeded to play like trash and then blames the fans for his departure. We need to buy Joey Barton just to break his legnext time we play them.

at Adebayor... anyways good win today by Liverpool
We need our guys from injury to come back like Aurelio and Aquilani

do you even know what a chav is bro? have you been to england seen one? because if you knew what chavs were you would know that one earns the unfortunate titleof chav from more than rocking fake burberry, eating at mcdonalds everyday and driving a ford escort mk3. it all comes down to behavior. chavs are gettingarrested all the time, have kids when they are like 14 and get asbos(anti social behavior order) and just all around act a fool in their personal lives. thebiggest chavs in english football by definition are prob bellamy and joey barton. remember bellamy was arrested in 06 for assaulting a woman in a club. bartonhas been arrested a few times too. as far as i know rooneys biggest off field embaressment was being seen with a middle aged prostitute.

and rooney isn't my hero btw..i just like him but hes not even my fave footballer. him and giggs are my fave on united but all time my faves are zizou andcantona.

Adebeyor was classless. Dude is gonna get booed like crazy every single time he steps into Emirates Stadium for the rest of his career.

RVP issued this statement following the game.

"I am sad and disappointed by my former team-mate Emmanuel Adebayor's mindless and malicious stamp on me during today's match.

"We are both professional footballers and I know that the game is physical, I too have made hard and sometimes mis-timed challenges but never with theintention of hurting an opponent. He set out to hurt me today.

"I knew he was aiming for a collision because he changed the angle of his body to allow contact to be made. He moved backwards when his natural momentumwould have taken him forward. I find that deeply disrespectful. He has shown a real lack of class today, to me and the fans.

"I do feel lucky that I have not suffered a greater injury. The contact was only centimetres from my eye. I have not received an apology from him, therewere no words exchanged afterwards. He had his own agenda today and that is bad for football. It's bad for the game we all love.

"I want to make it clear that this has nothing to do with the result of today's match. We do not hide from that disappointment but I need to speak outabout his behaviour."

just got home from work alll day and night. saw highlights to most matches.

first, benayoun

trick
second, adebeyor is gangsta
third, goodnight

Just from a neutral prospective.. I was dying laughing when Adebayor ran to the Arsenal fans.. Drama makes the game more interesting. Can't wait for thereturn fixture in the 2nd half of the season.

Still, no respect for this

I am English, and btw it doesn't just come down to behaviour.

Extremely classless. Arsenal made him as a player, and then this is how he shows his respect? It's the opposite of what you expect, normallywhen a player scores against their old club they make a point of celebrating less.. Still, i'm going to be at the Emirates for when City come down here andbest believe he won't be celebrating when we destroy them.

dude's cleaning out his closet...the anti-Arsenal remarks,the fan-taunting celebrations,the stamping incident...

true, but what else has the club given him?
i'm gonna anger Arsenal fans by saying this, but the club doesn't seem to share his big ambitions...
he's frustrated that in almost every season he had to endure finishing fourth in the league...

did you see how he tore Arsenal's defence apart yesterday?that's what he's really capable of...
sadly,Mr Wenger could'nt(or didn't want to) find someone to complement him upfront or even build a team around Adebayor...

STILL,i'm disgusted at the stamping incident on Van Persie...those things shouldn't be happening on the pitch...

I wouldn't say he tore the defence apart but he played well. Of course the club has ambition, we have a good squad, we just need everyone tobe fully fit. All we need is a good DM and probably a striker other than Bendtner who can play alongside RVP. We don't have the money of the big three sowe can't spend amounts on players, and Wenger seems certain that our young players are the future of the club.. who knows. We hadn't lost for ages inthe PL and now we have lost the last two matches, I think they'll bounce back from it though.

Arsenal won't have to complain, FA already said they're going to look at it tomorrow and best believe from that video it looks like he meant it quitewell and I expect a suspension for him, if not then Mark Hughes has bought the FA too. Adebayor is a scumbag and I'm glad we got rid of such a dirtyplayer.

sure know a lot about chavs there, you might wanna cop a nylon track suit to complete your research.
english media calls rooney a chav all the time so chill out on defending your noble prince.

Keepie Uppie...I agree with a lot of what you said about Adebeyor being an ambitious player and perhaps he was more ambitious than the club itself.

The problem Arsenal fans have with him is that he decided to mail it in most of last season. The season before he was a beast. He easily scored over 20 goalsand was a GREAT performer in our big EPL and UCL matches.

However, right after that season (in which Arsenal were very competitive), he began shopping for a new club and a wage increase. I mean, what kind of persondoes that?

And then the season after he was one of the best strikers in Europe, he decides to take it easy and gets all emotional after Arsenal fans became rightfullyupset with him for :

a) Openly looking for a bigger club to join
b) Not giving 100% effort

Adebeyor is a monster, when he's motivated he's a great striker. Quick, strong, great in the air, etc. However, it'll be interesting to see how heperforms for Man City if he loses some of his motivation. What happens if Man City go trophyless after 2 years? Will he then be looking for an exit strategy?

thekryptonite...the "we dont have as much money as Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man City" is a huge cop-out and this is coming from a huge Arsenalfan. You mean to tell me the club can afford to build a $1 billion stadium but it cant afford to spend some cash on some players? You mean to tell me theycould secure the sponsorship of the United Arab Emirates but they dont have enough money to spend on players? You mean to tell me Arsenal made 40 millionpounds off of the sale of Toure and Adebayor but they dont have enough money to spend on players?

The club has enough money but Wenger thinks he can nickel and dime his way to glory. This isn't 2002 anymore where you could build a championship winningteam off of a few shrewd acquisitions. You have to spend money to win championships in 2009. We see the effect that big money transfers have on teams...justlook at what Arshavin means to our club now, he's probably our 2nd most important player after Fabregas. Arsenal have money, it's just that theirideology is flawed.

i will defend him because hes one of my fave players and quite simply there are alot of worse people in the epl. people on here trash him all thetime but if i or any other man utd(or supporter of another club) criticise fabregas, eduardo, rvp, sagna, arshavin etc you guys pop a hemroid as if itsblasphemy. alot or arsenal fans on here have an our @*! dont stint attitude. and i dont need to cop a track suit to "complete my research" thatsounds absurd. i only know what i know about chavs/scallies etc because im in the uk alot. my moms hometown which we visit alot(kettering, northants,uk) has aTON of chavs and although i dont interact with them i watch them get drunk and act a fool from my hotel window at night.
roll.gif

that said adabayors behavior imo was attrocious/disgraceful. dude ran the whole field t celibrate in front of the arsenal end..and although funny it was def odand unprofessional and caused trouble. i guess someone got pegged with something during the ruckus. and for stomping on rvp he should be banned for atleast 3matches and fined. was just as bad as when rooney"stomped" on carvahalo in the 2006 wc. im not saying he should be banned because hes facing utd nextweek either.

yep, chavs are truly scum..all the skin head chavs from different football firms have banded together to beat down muslims in england..its funny because themuslim hooligans have now created a "unity against facism" where they go around and beat chavs up..england has a serious culture war going down.

smh @ arsenal though..im convinced arsene is a pedophile. he courts young talent, brings them to his place and then kicks them out when they hit their mid 20s.dude's nickle and diming needs to stop.

Arsenal... haha. SMH

Ade, came from SCUM... acting like SCUM. Ade is a top level striker. Like Carlos Tevez said... but the way he celebrated in front of SCUM fans and the stomp onanother SCUM's face, absolute disrespect to himself, SCUM players and fans, but more importantly, to the game. There is no place for that in soccer at anylevel. Hopefully Ade gets punished.

I bet they get Ade like they've been getting Chelsea, Eduardo, etc. They're going to make an example out of him and this incident.

Arsenal won their UCL appeal regarding Eduardo meaning that he wont be suspended for any games after his dive. Further proof that the big clubs in Europe canget away with whatever they want and that diving is here to stay
smh.gif

I expect Chelsea to win their appeal too and at the very least, have the penalty reduced to just 1 transfer window...maybe have the transfer ban liftedcompletely.

Someone start a UCL Matchday 1 thread for this week's games.
