I'm a big fan of this strategy and i will implement it more then likely in my draft, but i feel like there are exceptions to every strategy including this one. There are couple RB's that i would take in the first five rounds but there aren't many

    Round 1-Todd Gurley
    Round 2-Lamar Miller
Round 3-Lesean Mccoy with a Karlos Williams handcuff he should fall since he's being suspended for the first 4 guys
Round 4-Latavius Murray, CJ Anderson and Matt Forte
    Round 5-Matt Jones

Mind you i'm picking 4th in 12 man league, I would put Latavius Murray in the 3 round but as a late 3 rounder though. If i were able to land any of guys in those respective rounds i would feel pretty good about the pick. I just feel like you can't pigeon hole yourself into a definite strategy.

What are peoples thoughts about drafting Jordan Reed early vs. waiting for someone like Fleener, Ladarius, or bennett in the late late rounds.

Only tight end I would even consider early is Gronk. Also remember the Golden Rule. Never ever take a tight end and quarterback back to back in the first five rounds. You can never catch up on wide receivers or running backs. You are always playing from behind

I always go WR the first two rounds.

Then maybe RB in the 3rd if there's someone nice available, if not I'm going WR again.

The WR heavy strategy has worked very well for me so far. In the last two years I've played in four leagues, won two of them, was runner-up in one, and reached the semi finals in another.

Yea I plan on going with OBJ. My brother hasn't 2nd pick and I think he's going julio unless he trades his pick

Brandin Cooks and Amari Cooper are two names to look at in second round

Isn't second round really high for brandin cooks?  His ADP is about 30.

    I wouldn't touch Cooks in top 3.
Just me though... same situation as last year with less of a line. Didn't do a ton.

Ingram seemingly getting more attention. Brees older. Just don't like the situation for points.

I would try to go RB in the 2nd cause the 1st pick is most likely trying to get a RB in 1 of his back to back picks . then on the way back you can go WR. that's just me though

In 12 and 14 team leagues that I participate in cooks and Cooper have steadily been taken in the middle of the second round. I like them both. Cooks had a great second half of last year and the Saints defense is horrible. Drew Brees will still be steady and they will be playing catch-up ball a lot this year. As far as an ADP of 30. I think that is insane. Don't forget that these Yahoo leagues have a bunch of hamsters that play in them and they're ADP is offline.

That's true.  It also depends on the league type as well.  The ADP of 30 was for a standard scoring league.  I would imagine PPR they would both go a bit higher.

The two leagues I run are both PPR. One being an auction.

Took cooks in the 3rd or 4th last year.
Just doesn't pay out to give him a high round draft pick imo.

2nd year, could always emerge yes. But I'd rather take Landry in the 2nd. More catches, more yards, should be more TDs this year as well.

I'm not sure about an 8 teamer. I'd probably wanna take a more balanced approach since there will be plenty of talent available.

I agree that it's not good to pigeonhole yourself, but I'd advise against taking a RB in the early rounds just because it seems like he's a "value". I'm staying far away from McCoy, Murray, Jones.

Loved him the past couple of years but those jokers down in Miami were idiots. Hoping he'll shine in Houston. He might be the only RB I'm considering drafting early.

Cooks cooked last year. After a slow start, from weeks 5 through 16 he was the WR8 in PPR leagues. 901 yds/9 TDs over the last 11 weeks of the season. Their defense will still be trash so they're gonna be playing from behind and airing it out often. His targets will probably drop, but the addition of some quality pass catchers (Fleener, Thomas) this offseason will only give him more room to operate. Well worth a 2nd-3rd round pick imo.

Lamar should have a great year. I was so pissed at Miami holding him back last year cause I drafted him thinking he was going to finally break out.

What round would be appropriate to draft Dez? I'm assuming 2nd rounder but I still classify him as an elite WR.

Reasons why U wouldn't draft Dez round 1. Romo has not been able to stay healthy for how long? There is nothing I want to do with Dez, not because of him. Because of all the noodle arms behind him.

Dak CAN get it there, but rookie success with a rookie rb? Too many variables.

I love Dez too but Romo's collarbone (and back) is a ticking timebomb. Risky pick but could pay off handsomely.

I'd rather grab Moncrief or Dorsett. Specifically Dorsett.

I think people will still buy into Jordy early on. Kelvin not so much, but could have great mid-round value.

Bias aside, I'm looking for BM15 to have another solid season. He has Fitz back, and even cut down 20 lbs.
