    Excited for this coaching staff.

While not the biggest McCoy fan, his ability to coordinate to his players strengths should hopefully progress Paxtons development (along with new QB coach Bill Musgrave).

Im expecting big things out of new D coordinator Joe Woods, who has managed the defensive secondary (no-fly zone) the past couple years. Hes highly respected on the defensive side and I fully expect him to rally the defense to return to their domination.

Vance Joseph, delegating roles to his coordinators, should hopefully prove to be the unifying voice we need going forward. They say his strengths lie in being an overall players coach and motivator, Im hoping complete buy-in across the board.

And while we DEFINITELY need a complete revamp of the o-line, I am advocating for using that 1st rounder on Christian McCaffrey, to grab that playmaker we are desperately lacking on offense.

Our own Tyreek Hill, Leveon Bell-esque baller.

While I know Elway will use a couple picks on the o-line, I'd rather see them rebuild it going after a couple of vets n then trying to develop a couple draftpicks with middle rd picks. We need immediate line help and rookie linemen, regardless of where theyre drafted, usually take a year or two, Id rather be bold and send DT to Cleveland for Joe Thomas, or something of that nature.

Remember we used a 2nd rder on Ty Sambraillo two years ago and hes looked really bad thus far..

Time to add some explosiveness to that side of the ball.

Also, this draft is supposed to be loaded with tight ends this year.

I love AJ Derby and think he can develop into our full time starter, but I know Elway will dip into the TE excess and try to find a gem.

Thats a tough question and one that'll definitely be answered in training camp. Coaches are saying that it will be an open comp, even though Siemien played decent this year.

I think its moreso expectations that last years more athletically gifted 1st rd QB will hopefully be able to beat out Siemien. Lynch's ceiling is obviously higher but it remains to be seen if he can take over the starting gig.

I can say, with O Coordinator Mike McCoy and QB coach Musgrave, they're gonna give Lynch everything he needs, only time will tell if he will be able to make the necessary strides to earn the gig

Btw, we beefed up our O-line signing Ron Leary from the Cowboys and Menelik Watson from the Raiders.

Both big, stout linemen - Leary is the better signing and should immediately step into the starting line-up.

Watson is an intriguing signing.. Big dude that's only played a few years but has been hurt. Thus far has not lived up to being drafted in the 2nd rd, but he's been hurt.

If he can stay healthy, he might be able to finally bring it all together here in Denver.

Either way, two under-the-radar o-line free agent pick ups.

    Optimistic.

Our defense should do work as usual.

I really hope Elway drafts us that playmaker that we need, to help our offense contend and be a winner this year and not be a liability as they were at times last year.

I think our current qbs are fine.

Biggest issue is shoring up the offensive line. Two guys signed in free agency, plucked from two of the better o-lines last year. Hoping Elway can maybe pull off a trade for another player to plug into the line.

The only other problem is we play in arguably the toughest division.

Should be a great year bro

I'm very optimistic. The key is fixing the Oline which has been awful ever since PM's last season. You fix the line and then we can see what the QB situation is like

I'd still rather see Kaep under center than Siemian. I think Lynch will be good, but he still needs another year or two to mature. Just praying the OL is better so we can actually have a running game again.

Ab-so-freaking-lutely. He had 16 TDs and only 4 INTs last year on a poooooop team. He's always been an above-average QB, it's just that team disintegrated when Harbaugh left. If Elway wasn't such a staunch Republican I think we'd have already had him on the team. but if he wants to look at a possible political career (which is the rumor) he'll never sign an Afro'd, socially-conscious, pro-BLM player to be his team's centerpiece. And it's a damn shame, because his speed and improv ability could make up for some of the issues with the OL and RBs.

I'm not "turning" anything political, though - Kaep's whole situation is inherently political. Everything I stated was fact, other than the rumor that Elway is planning to run for office at some point. Kaep is one of the most politically-charged players in the league, obviously. I like him as a player regardless of his politics. I love Elway as a player & exec, regardless of his politics. I happen to agree with Kaep's politics and disagree with Elway's, but that's neither here nor there. The issue is Elway (and apparently the rest of the league's predominantly older, white, rich, conservative ownership & top management) likely views Kaep as a "problem" because of his politics. Hell, Trump chimed in on Kaep's politics just a couple of weeks ago, basically saying nobody's signed the dude because owners are afraid of a social media backlash (which he has both perpetuated and claims he is responsible for).

I just think it's nuts that there are guys in the league that have committed and been found guilty of really serious crimes, while a Super Bowl QB can't get a gig because he kneeled for the anthem in support of BLM (in a predominantly black league).

As for Siemian, I feel bad for him because like Lynch he just wasn't ready to start yet. I really wish Sanchez had panned out as a serviceable starter last season to give both Siemian and Lynch time to learn & mature a bit. But unfortunately he wasn't worth the $$$ to use as a stop-gap for a year.

I blame Bossweiler for it all [IMG]

Welp.. So much for my early draft-McCaffrey forecast.

That said, I realllllly wanted them to either move up to get OJ Howard once he dropped (and went 1 spot before our pick) or was then hoping we'd go Reuben Foster once OJ was gone..

1st rd - Tackle Garrett Bolles - if he ends up being what he's projected, it's a great pick. Tall (but light) athletic tackle that plays til the whistle, and plays super aggressively. Nasty. A little old at 25 (although that might not be the worst thing for an o-lineman you're expecting to start). If he pans out we have our left tackle for the next X amount of years. Our o-line was horrid last year. Signing Ron Leary, Menelik, and now drafting Bolles should definitely prove to be an upgraded line no question.

2nd round - Defensive End Demarcus Walker - beast who put up numbers that rivaled/were better than the #1 pick Miles Garrett. Inconsistent at times but a solid pick, will work into the rotation easily I'd imagine.

3rd round - Wide Receiver Carlos Henderson - great pick, best receiver in the draft after the catch and projects as our 3rd WR out of the slot. Fast, shifty receiver, will be able to return kicks too. My favorite pick along with Butt.

3rd round - Cornerback Brendan Langley - screams reach to me. Position tweener (team couldnt figure out if he was a WR or CB) and got smoked in the Sr. Bowl.
Raw as hell but tall and supposedly can return kicks. Idk seems like we could have got this guy 3 rounds later. I'll file this one under "developmental prospect"

5th round - Tight End Jake Butt - great pick! Theres our tight end, got 2nd rd value in the 5th. Got hurt and slid to us, I'll take it. Hopefully will compete for the starting job once he's healthy.

Hoping a running back is next.

Be back after our next picks..

    Thank you my brother!

    To finish up..

5th round - Wide Receiver Isaiah McKenzie - electric runner but tiny at 5'8", the third player in this draft to compete for kick returner. Elway determined to find the right guy for that job this year! Hopefully we can find ways to use this guy, he has homerun potential every time he gets the ball.

6th round - Running Back DeAngelo Henderson - another small dude (5'7") that runs a little like MJD. Stocky and quick, should compete for our 3rd RB position. Solid value for a 6th rd. pick.

7th round - Quarterback Chad Kelly - the last pick in the draft and could be my favorite pick for the Broncos future. Jim Kellys nephew, and easily the most accurate passer in this years draft. Mike Mayock said this: ""So I've been trying to say that if you take out the medical and the character, he's a first- or second-round quarterback all day long," NFL Draft analyst Mike Mayock said after Denver's selection of Kelly. "If you take his two tapes against Alabama, and put them up against Deshaun Watson's, they're every bit as good."
Honestly could prove to be the steal of the draft if being picked as Mr. Irrelevent humbled him enough to make him understand how dope a situation is that he landed with the Broncos and with maturity/putting in the work, he could eventually push for the starting job. We now have 3 legitimate young quarterbacks that can fight and may the best man win.

I think Elway did an awesome job on paper, I really do. Time will tell how he really did.

    Overall Draft Grade: A-

The Cornerback in the 3rd was the only suspect pick to me. I think we filled every position of need with the exception of maybe inside linebacker. Still think we can work with what we have and who knows who may pan out via undrafted free agent pick ups as well as any other free agent signings/potential trades.

We still need that playmaker on offense but we'll see if any of these picks provide that (Carlos Henderson, Butt, or either of the under 6' prospects)

Might sound crazy for a 7th rd pick (and very last pick of the draft) but I'm also very excited to see if Chad Kelly can develop into anything.

I don't understand everyone going bananas for Kelly with that 7th round pick when he's had instance after instance of terrible character issues. This guy's a mess upstairs. And there are people on MileHighReport claiming he's the second coming of Elway.

And if the front office wants to hang the next 3-5 years on Siemian, Lynch and this kid, while passing on the (likely) opportunity to get a proven commodity like Kaepernick on the cheap, then I don't have much hope for our overall prospects in the AFC West during that window against the likes of the Chiefs and Raiders.

Fingers crossed that I'm wrong, and that an improved OL will help give Siemian and the running game a chance, but as my man Han Solo said, I've got a bad feeling about this.
