Ideal draft on the heels of FA pick ups:

 

Dolphins still have $23 - $30 millipon in cap space. Cut Misi and that should bring it up to $30... wild what they've been able to do with the cap.

Some wizards on spending.

 

Trade back... swap and get (say) a 2nd and a 4th. Trade back again, swap and get another 2nd/3rd and 4th/5th.

Use one of the three 2nd round picks on Sidney.

Yes I'd do that in a heart beat.

The Dontari Poe situation played out strangely. He was at the Dolphins' facility for 9 hours yesterday but ended up signing a one-year deal with Atlanta.

Oh, and his agent also represents Mike Tannenbaum.

 

Apparently the Dolphins are looking to trade up in the draft.

Not a fan of that, especially with how deep this draft is.

Well, now Kiko has been re-signed as well.

The only player worth a damn that isn't re-signed for next year, is Jarvis Landry. (and they are working on that as well)

This is what I have been preching for a while now. They have locked up their own players, AND added a couple eh, decent upgrades, then we add with the Draft, THEN we go out next year, and we still have Free Agency + Draft to add even MORE on top of the already signed and extended core.

Tannehill, Wake, Suh, Jones, Kiko, Stills, Branch, Pouncey, Julius Thomas, and hopefully Landry, all signed. After that, you can extend Parker and Tunsil, etc (won't need to for at least 2+ years)

That's how you build a group, with the right staff, etc.


Doesn't guarantee we win a super bowl or anything, but the approach is right. We're acting like a real football team as of now. Hope it continues.


Note, we kinda gambled on signing Kiko so early/so much, but a little overpay with the cap goin up every year, meh. I'll live with that.

I had my doubts about Tannenbaum, but he's done a decent job so far.

 

We all did.

But he, and a huge deal with Grier, has done a wonderful job. Lost Miller and OF because they wanted to wait to sign... I'm sure not having Gase hurt that but that's regardless.... and let them hit FA. If they attacked their one year players like they did this off-season maybe one of the two are still on the team. (Miller being the obvious because OF got PAID).

Now do the right thing and trade DOWN in this draft. DE, Strong Side LB, DT, OG, FS, Nickle Corner, DE, and TE are all needs. Keep chipping away.

 

Now that I think about it... depth with Pouncey at Center is a need as well.

He's gonna get hurt again. Steen was serviceable but it looked like he really wore down towards the end of the season and lost his strength/endurance.

G/C combo would be good to pickup.

 

But... but... that messes up everyone's argument for it being easy for any other QB except Ryan Tannehill... quick, delete delete!
