REGULAR SEASON
Screen Shot 2019-08-15 at 8.16.40 AM.png

Schedule thoughts? I like that the @ Miami game is in week 2 and outta the way early, even though it will be warmer. Bye week at a perfect time (leaving room for a Gronk return?). 2 games @ home to close the season out is nice. Hosting the Steelers and Chiefs is a god send but visting Philly, Houston, and Baltimore will be interesting.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Key Additions:
- Michael Bennett
- Jamie Collins
- Brandon Bolden (welcome byke!)
- Demaryius Thomas (TBD if he sticks)
- Lance Kendricks
- Ben Watson
- Chase Winovich
- Damien Harris
- N'Keal Harry
- Jakobi Meyers (UDFA who is really flashing in camp and preseason so far)
- Jarrett Stidham

Key Losses:
- Gronk
- Trey Flowers
- Cordarrelle Patterson
- Trent Brown

Josh Gordon is back! WR looks a lot more promising with the depth chart looking like:

Julian Edelman
Josh Gordon
N’Keal Harry
Phillip Dorsett
Jakobi Meyers
Braxton Berrios

assuming the rest get cut followed by one more if Thomas/Meredith can get healthy and win a job. Not sure if Slater being a lock already means some else has to go too but they should keep the extra WR this year with TE so thin

1st quarter observations: harris and myers making plays. JC "PI" jackson still playing too physical before the ball gets there (but like that his coverage seems tight). hoyer sucks

shut myers down for the night. he's on the team. play him with brady thursday night and then shut it down

Hadn't even realized a new thread was up

Been cool to see a lot of the rookies and young guys doing well this preseason.

Really excited about the defense this year, got a solid amount of depth in all areas on that front. so hoping for big things on that side of the ball.

Offense is gonna look weird without Gronk but there's some decent size and potential big play ability in the WR corp heading into the season but I still expect the offense to rely on the run game first. Thankfully the RB corp is arguably the deepest unit on the squad

Just a few more weeks before the quest for #7 begins :pimp:

Not gonna like I've only watched about 5 minutes of the preseason thus far :smh:

Excited for regular season. Kicks off on my b-day weekend which is often the case. Hope Flash stays focused and has moved on from his f**kery.

What are the big question marks going into week 1?

What are the big question marks going into week 1?

TE for sure...it's going to be a struggle and non-factor based on what we've seen so far. there's some potential with Watson and Lacosse, and maybe Kendricks and Saubert can add something, but i don't see us carrying all those guys. gonna miss Gronk's blocking in the run game too.

outside of that, not a lot of glaring holes. maybe interior DL and safety. WR originally looked grim but Meyers, Harry, and Gordon byke will actually make it a strength (at least based on what we saw). Stidham's development in the preseason will be something to watch, too. so far, he's looked far better than expected. nice touch on deep balls. just going to be about developing his mental side of the game and getting quickly through reads

there's going to be some tough cuts for sure

not a bad game tonight. this defense has been pretty nuts. not sure if it's them or the opposition, but they really don't give up anything. and they're generating tons of pressure between KVN, Boom, Collins, Wino, and Simon. coverage has been solid, too

Sony was RUNNING tonight. good to see. Brady looked pretty sharp outside of some miscommunications with Meyers. Myers picked it up though in the 2nd half

overall, not a bad preseason. hopefully Watson is OK. he has 5 weeks now to recover anyway with the suspension. KVN came back but hope that leg injury was nothing. pretty solid preseason. only wish was that Brady got time to Edelman, Flash, and Demaryius

David Andrews with blood clots in his lungs...get well soon big fella :frown::frown:

in the mean time, steady Teddy will prob move to center:

The Patriots have two in-house options when it comes to center, Ted Karras and James Ferentz. Either could do the job necessary. Karras has more experienced and is bigger (6-4, 305). Ferentz is built lower to the ground (6-2, 300), which is usually preferred in a center.

Gordon, BeyBey, and Edelman all byke and playing :pimp:

we gotta drop Hoyer and keep these extra WRs, these kids (Myers and Gunner) look the part and can contribute. let's develop em :pimp:
