🍎 OFFICIAL NEW YORK METS THREAD 🍎: @San Francisco 4/22-4/24

This is really mindblown

In back to back season, we have bad bullpen ERA under a former pitching coach

Edwin Diaz essentially cost Mickey Callaway his job. Locker room chemistry is just as important as Xs and Os. We'll see if the next manager can maintain that. Collins lost the clubhouse in 2017. Mickey never lost the support of the players.

Is that in reference to what I said? BBrodie's moves or lack thereof sunk the season. No one would win with this pen.

They did Mickey dirty.

Brody is backing himself into a corner.

If the Mets have a losing record next July, there will be no one else to blame but him.

Mets shouldve let Mickey atleast start the 2020 season as it was his last contract year.

Our starting rotation has been among the elite in performance and health these past 2 seasons. Mickey's got something to do with that.

beltran would be very interesting

Beltran the player was fantastic.
Beltran the coach? I dont know, theres no history or experience there.
Mickey at least worked as a pitching coach and had great results with Clevelands staff.

Mets starting pitching these last 2 years have been great. We remained healthy, all our starters had the most starts in their careers and DeGrom won a CY Young (possibly a 2nd).

It sucks Mickey doesnt get credit for the good, only the bad.

^ no, still havent forgiven him for not swinging

ill take Girardi tho
That game was rough, but he was an all-star for the Mets from day 1. Look at the stats.... https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/beltrca01.shtml

Girardi is going to cost a lot compaired to Mickey ($500k/year)

Pitching staff was great in 2015 and 2016 too. Has nothing to do with Mickey.

Their health and durability was better. That has something to do with him. Fixing quirks in their mechanics that would otherwise a put stress on their arm, shoulder and elbow is something you absolutely attribute to him.
