Today was a tough lesson for RM’s frugal board that Rodrygo will never be a 9. Which means we’ve at this stage got no choice but to play Mariano.

Reality is the league is pretty far out of reach. But there are still 3 trophies we’re still in contention for. And it’s up to Ancelotti to try different lineups through the injuries and players being in/out of form to get us to peak for other comps.

I do think this group will figure it out, but that by the time we do the league will be wrapped up.

The books show we have more than ever to spend. The stadium costs are irrelevant, it's a low yearly fixed rate. And the refs aren't getting paid enough from our side.

And then the issue is compounded with too many players having a lack of competition for their place. You need squad depth that you’re willing to properly use to prevent exhaustion and promote competition in your squad.

Today Carlo probably goofed starting an out of form Valverde and not rotating Ceballos.

Carlo isn't promoting anyone, you know that, he'll give symbolic call ups to players and that it's. He's had two years to do that, not a single player has been implemented. It took being embarrassed in the champions league and his son convincing him to play Rodrygo, Fede & Camavinga. Carlo will escape criticism because he's a nice guy.

he looks like he’s been done since the balon d’ or. his class makes him effective still but can’t see him, modric, and kroos trying to keep up the level to play a full season. growing forward they all can still do their thing but defensively what little the midfielders had to offer before is really gone now especially when casemiro isn’t protecting them anymore.

right but the lack of clean sheets this szn is surprising with the players you have at the back and with courtois in the form of his life still. seems like a defensive midfield problem to me. but the offensive woes could be down to the midfield as well.
