On track for a 30 goal season

Just realized Mbappe played with Falcao.

Mans definitely taught him some things :smokin

That Monaco squad that bounced us from the Champions League was 🔥. Young(er) Mbappe, Falcao, Bernardo Silva, Lemar, Bakayoko, Fabinho, Mendy

Obviously sucks getting bounced but looking back that was a helluva tie with some f’ery in the 2nd leg. Think the agg was 6-6 or 7-6

Thought it couldnt get more heartbreaking but Madrid last year said hold my beer  :frown:

That was not peak la liga

Galacticos era was peak la liga
2000-2010

Sorry but you’re just wrong. In the decade you’re referencing, clubs like AC Milan, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United were just as good, if not better than Real Madrid and Barcelona. During the MSN/BBC era, Real Madrid and Barcelona were clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the world. Not to mention the fact that Spanish clubs also dominated the Europa League during this time.

My point still stands and you just proved my point. All the leagues were balanced with each league having 2-3 teams performing consistently. The quality of players were much better and they were spread out between the leagues. Having money to buy players didn't guarantee you success.

La liga had tough opposition in champions league with italian, british, Portuguese, french, German teams

The era you referenced was when other leagues started struggling financially and teams couldn't afford players to compete. Certain clubs could afford and started hoarding players. That's what barca and madrid did. All that spending eventually caught up to barca and they can't rely on refs to bail them out like they used to.
