Went to visit my parents today and stopped at the factory store near their house. First thing I saw in the window. Also marked down to $99, word to @So Much Sole 23.

Hard to pass on, but the black/red AJKO's and Aqua VIII's were sitting at the local Nike outlet store. I couldn't tell if it was just tissue paper rubbing off on the canvas, but I saw some suspicious light splotches in random areas on the AJKO's. Not to mention, the black canvas surface on every pair looked like they might've been scrubbed cleaned. I'd still cop a pair of both if they continue to drop in price. One sales clerk said they've been moving Aqua VIII's like crazy, and Nike keeps sending them restocks.

Both OG bred 1's are dope in there own right, KO's or regular leather. One just has way more hype than the other. I wish I had copped my bred KO's for less than retail last year but I can't complain as I got my 2016 banneds for just under retail.

To a collector or a sneakerhead yeah the shoes maybe night and day but as far as style and aesthetics go the shoes interchangeable. I don't collect anymore but I still do buy what I like and I was lucky enough to get multiple incarnation of the bred color way from the 2008 hi strap 1s to these ko's and the banneds that dropped this weekend. Remove hype from the equation and they're absolutely interchangeable if you dont have an issue with canvas.

Never understood how there can be so many 1's "fans" and not for the ko's.

Well to me, the materials and craftsmanship on the KOs feel cheap compared to the OG 1s. Also I think the Vandal tooling looks hideous. At the end of the day, if you enjoy wearing the shoes that's all that matters.

IMO yes they run big. Got my normal 1 size in the sport blues and I had to add another insole to eat up some space. Got a half size down in the shadows and black/reds and they fit a lot better.
