OFFICIAL LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS 2017-2018 Season Thread (25-25; v. CHI on 2/3-Harris/Bradley Debut)

Clippers held Steph to -15 pts twice last season. Goes with what I said that generally speaking, doc, CP, lawrence frank, they really do a great job of gameplanning against the Steph Curry's, Russell Westbrook's, and Dame Lillard's of the world.

But that had a lot to do with how we played the P&R prior to this year. With our change to our scheme, it'll be interesting to see how it effects Steph's output. Perhaps it allows him to get off, but everyone else in check. We'll see.

Doc Rivers and Jamal Crawford need to be separated permanently...

 

I'm okay with that. That was a game I felt we should of had. Some crucial mistakes were make in P&R coverage. There's no need for Blake or DJ to EVER not be up on P&R defense.

But Jamal Crawford man...My goodness. I legit would prefer the 2nd unit be without him. He had some good moments but his inconsistency affects this team too much, given how much he plays.

 

CP must be hurt, why wasn't he in at the end?

 

My eyes may be wrong, but I saw Him mess with his groin on that layup over iggy at the end.

happy overall with the way the clips played. i saw the better team come up on the short end tonight.

few things...

1. crawford had a stretch where he was doing well, but he stunk it up.
2. there were at least 3 times in the game where the clippers play was broken, the man picked up his dribble to look for someone to pass it to and literally nobody worked hard to get to the ball causing 2 turnovers

and the biggest thing,

YOU HAVE TO DOUBLE CURRY COMING OUT OF EACH AND EVERY P&R SITUATION BEYOND THE 3 POINT LINE and jordan has to come up and be glued to curry off that p&r even 3 to 4 feet beyond the 3 point line. if he does that, clips win the game

 

clippers have to figure out what to do to get Paul Pierce going so he's not so rusty down the stretch. maybe start him, play him 5 min or so then sit him?

 

The Clippers have been dropping back of guards with their P&R coverage all year. so I can understand the miscommunications to want DJ to all of a sudden blitz but at the same time, you can't have that slippage when you're playing the warriors.

These are things that we can improve on in a few weeks.

This bench is....man they put us down 17 in the first half, and put us up 10 in the second half   This inconsistency will be the death of us. 

Really hope CP doesn't miss any time with this groin issue man.

 

Missed free throws killed us. Austin played good D, he def deserves more minutes. I was impressed with born ready, I would like to see him get more minutes also.

 

If Lance shoots the 3 like he did tonight....  

 

Down 4, no TO's with 13 seconds left. Yea, def wouldn't risk it.

CP3's missed FTs were HUGE. Pierce's too. The game was fun as hell. Would like 7 of those in May.

 

win or lose, whether they admit it or not, the warriors know there will be hell come playoff time from the clips

and the whole western conference for that fact. the rockets will see this weekend.

 

the clips went on a stretch where they were lights out and the warriors couldn't throw it in the ocean ... great game but warriors will have home court should they meet in the playoffs and that will be the difference ... 

 

How do you know who will have homecourt in the playoffs after five games man

I wholeheartedly believe doc told Jamal to try to get a 4 pt play. I thought having pierce would make jamal understand he doesn't have to hijack the offense with the 2nd unit but wverything is the same
