***Official Los Angeles Dodgers 2024 Thread*** Thank you Fat Joe: Los Angeles Dodgers World Series Champions!!!!

Mans on the NL West tour lol! Dodgers beat the Rays in 2020 and got their best pitchers 4 years later.

Dudes are in shambles everywhere  From now on whenever we sign someone this will be me

Poor Flaherty was everywhere with the trophy and doing interviews on every podcast
I'd feel bad but he could offer a hometown discount if he wanted to stay. I'm all for folks getting their bag, but if he really loves it he doesn't have to take the top offer..

I know this might seem odd, but if I am the Dodgers GM, after signing Roki which we all know will happen, I would bring Shohei in for a sit down meeting and basically say:

"Look, I know you are a great pitcher. And if you are against this idea completely, we don't have to explore it. But I think it would be wise for you to just hit for this team."

It maximizes his bat and you damn sure don need his arm. Minimizes injury risk. Win win for your team. Plus he already got his bag, so he isnt hurting his wallet by not being a 2 way player anymore.

Snell
Yamamoto
Glasnow
Roki
Miller/May/Gonsolin

That's the best rotation in baseball already.

dland24 dland24 not a bad idea. But if I remember correctly, it was said he didn’t initially sign with the dodgers because they weren’t going to let him pitch or pitch as much, something along those lines. And Ohtani wanted to pitch, so he chose the Angels who said do whatever you want. So I don’t see him just saying I’m ok not pitching.

Also, part of the lure/marketing Ohtani and his absurd contract is that he is a unicorn, and can do both, at highly competitive levels. He’s getting his money and so are the dodgers, but just imagine the splurpage when he pitches a shutout and hits 2 bombs (and actually wins the game, unlike the angels ). I just think that adds waaaaaay more eyes. Eyes=money. Dodgers trying to recoup that $700 mil + some asap.
