His 13 ppg and 4 rebounds per game last year would disagree. If he can provide decent minutes spelling Danny Granger and Paul George, I'll be happy. In last years playoffs, Granger almost never came off the floor

the only thing stopping Lillard from winning ROY is an injury. of all the rookies, he has the most talent around him.

Barnes won't win because he's the 4th option on his team. Lillard only has to make sure LMA gets his touches. that high pick and roll of LMA/Lilliard is going to be hard to deal with.

Doesn't matter though AD, of all the rookies, has the most talent in him, therefore ROY is his to lose.
Lillard is definitely going to get buckets though, he's raw.
Funny you said injury, him being in Portland pretty much guarantees that.

Also yall acting like in the right situation Gerald Green can't give a team 15 and 4 consistently as long as he's a 3rd option/coming off the bench which will be his role on a pretty good INDY squad.
He's one of those guys who could have been a phenom if he had a Kobe type work ethic, his athleticism is sickening.

I have to disagree with half of your post, and agree with the other half

I think AD, while incredibly talented is going to have a hard time against NBA sized PFs. Just in the 1st month of the season he has to face Glen Davis, Tyrus Thomas/Bismark Biyombo, Josh Smith, Dirk, Lebron and Tim Duncan.

In November he has to face Paul Milsap, Boozer, Ibaka, Amare, David West, Faried and Blake.

I think he will be fine for his career, and will develop into a great player, but I think he's going to be baptized by fire in his rookie season.
    ____________

As far as Gerald Green goes, he will have good veteran leadership around him, and the combination of Paul George/Granger with Green (oh ****, all G names...thats dope, can we call them the G men? No? Ok) will be pretty nice

Anthony Davis will be starting at center with Ryan Anderson at power forward.

    First Unit

    Chalmers

    Wade

    Lebron

    Battier

    Bosh

    Bench

    Cole

    Ray Allen (James Jones)

    Mike Miller

    Rashard Lewis

    Joel Anthony (Vet Big Man)

    Possible Closing Lineups

    Any combination of....

Wade, Chalmers, Lebron, Allen, Miller, Lewis, Bosh, Battier

The versatility in this squad is unbelievable.  They will have trouble guarding the Lakers 2 bigs, but you can say the same thing the other way around.  How is Dwight Howard going to guard Chris Bosh if you pull him out to the corner 3 pointer? How will Pau Gasol guard Battier all around the perimeter? It only leaves gaping holes for two of the best slashers in the world.  Then you bring Howard/Gasol inside to take away those lanes and you have an arsenal of 3 point shooters with wide open shots.  Steve Nash does not have the quickness to shift defensively to contest those shots. Kobe might but you're going to wear him out defensively by doing that.  I don't think the Lakers are deep enough to keep up with the Heat, but if their squad can keep the score close until the end of the game, their starting 5 will create some serious damage to whoever they are playing.

Sorry for turning this into a Lakers vs. Heat discussion [IMG]

its going to be even harder for him. I definitely expect him to be a perennial all star, but idk how much I expect out of him as a rookie. Also he will be a 3rd of 4th scoring option on that team after EG, Rivers :x , and Anderson....2 of which are already established scorers in the NBA, and Rivers....well thats pretty much the only thing he can do

/\ What on earth makes you think Austin Rivers will be an option before AD?

    I said 3rd or 4th.

But the only reason I considered Rivers is because thats literally the only thing he brings to the team. It could easily be EG, Ryan Anderson, AD then Rivers...but that doesnt change the fact that AD is going to draw alot of tough matchups, especially looking at their schedule for the 1st couple months of the season...If you think AD is moving Glen Davis/Al Jefferson/Joakim Noah off the block, then idk what to tell you

count me in as not being sold on anthony davis overall talent. he's probably not going to be counted on for buckets, but with austin rivers potentially playing PG, who is he going to catch lobs from? he is strong enough to defend in a league full of quality PFs?

lillard has an NBA body along with NBA range. he could very easily average 17 and 6 on a team that will fight for the 8th seed.

Everything you're saying about AD is what they said about Dwight in year one. Cept AD is coming off a dominant one year in college and a Gold medal.

I think he'll be fine, but Dwight didnt win rookie of the year either, and is a more explosive athlete (not that AD isnt a great athlete). I think he'll be fine, but he's about to get bodied by some of these big men his rookie year
