Actually this kinda makes me want to compare him to Christian Laetner, who played lights out in college, and then in those 92 Olympics. He went for 18 and 9 his rookie year

If you think moving Glen Davis or Noah off the block is important in the grand scheme of things, I don't know what to tell you.

Guarding Glen Davis is NOT why AD was the number 1 pick. Tyson Chandler isn't one of the best defenders in the league because of his post defense. With double teams and the lack of true back to the basket players, it's not that important of a skill. What's way more important is having a guy that can contest (without fouling, more important than blocks) every shot at the rim (covering after the perimeter guys get beat), effectively guard the pick and roll (and recover), and rebound. It's what all the elite bigmen defenders can do at a high life (KG, Tyson, Dwight) and it's what makes AD special.

If he develops his offense, the things Davis will be doing in three to four years will be special as well.

Once again, I said he would be an all star player, and very good in the league

I am simply saying that as a rookie, he will have matchups that will make it hard for him to get that ROY award

Wasn't trying to call you out specifically since you said AD'll be fine - but a lot of people see that AD is weak and act like it's going to be his downfall. I was addressing that argument. I think it's weak since AD is already bulking up and he's shown he's willing to battle with anyone which is way more important than being strong.

NobleKane: You're off-base about Gerald Green. He's not just a dunker anymore, kid can play. Green can be a valuable contributor off the bench, giving 18-20 minutes a night.

What does that 1975-76 Regular Season Champs banner mean to Denver Nuggets? I'm guessing it's ABA but what the hell is a Regular Season champ?

I know that JaVale just wants to turn around, throw it off the backboard and dunk.

Even without Nash, I still think my team will stay competitive.  I'm really looking forward to this season.  Suns got a new court, now just waiting for our new uniforms. [IMG]

i'm not sure if people just keep over-reading my response or just plain out don't agree with me but "my main concerns with harrison barnes are his lack of iso ability, lack of an elite first step to consistently get to the basket and getting to the free throw line. i think the areas where he will be getting buckets will be very similar to JR such as being a spot-up shooter, cutting to the basket, and transition. I also think he will be an above average defender similar to JR even though he's a rookie."

 at you listing the players that you think will give AD problems. I love how you magnify one of his weakness (which isn't that big of a concern in today's NBA) and not really even addressing River's many holes in his game. I will guarantee you that Rivers will have a rougher start to his NBA career than AD and will get his *** bench for being a diva . You can name any rookie then do what you just did to AD in terms of how you said he will have problems with basically every veteran he will be facing.

I dont think they will have a hard time with the lakers if they do meet in the finals. lakers always seem to give up the open 3.

we shall see how well mr potato head has this aging lakers team playing defense in a non lockout year...

anything is possible. look how dwight carried that magic team on the defensive side of things..

i watched him tear it up in the d league last year i believe. however i am still not sold that he is a solid player that can be consistent and stick around. i was shocked so many nets fans were sad that he signed with indiana.
