I don’t understand why they didn’t hire a shooting coach while they were overseas.... Hell just take one of the Lakers scouts out to dinner and ask them a couple of questions

Thinking about it.. He probably used to use it as a clear out move to gain extra space for his shot. You used to see Kobe doing this as part of his triple threat where he'll rip through the defenders hands when they try to strip the ball.. That is if they didn't strip the ball..

It's just weird that it's part of his natural shooting motion
