If you're the 9ers this offseason, do you commit to Purdy long term to be a signifcantly worse and less deep version of what they've been or do you go full rebuild?

depends on the price. At this point he's not going to command top tier money...If he continues to play this way, then I'd guess he'll probably command around $30M/yr...No way he should get that Lamar/Josh/Mahomes kinda money.

But then if you're Purdy, you see Dak get a fat contract and you could argue he's worth more than Dak.

Gonna be interesting to see how the Niners and Purdy play this out.

Think yall behind the 8 ball on tiebreakers in top of that

Seahawks would have to go 1-4 or 2-3 with losses to both Arizona and LA, and the Niners would have to go 3-2 or 4-1 with wins over both to even have a chance, but the Niners still will have split the season series in case of a tie at 8-9 or 9-8 with anyone. However, say the Seahawks, Rams and Niners end up tied at the end under that scenario, the Rams would win the division with a 2-0 record over the Seahawks. Let's say the Rams fall off and Arizona is the third team. Tie breaker becomes common opponents (AFC East, NFC North). The divison is sorta bunched up on that as well, but the Seahawks and Niners still have three games left against those teams (3-2 and 2-3, respectively). Arizona only has the Patriots at home, and will likely finish 5-3. Arizona will hold that tie breaker, most likely, unless the Seahawks manage a 2-1 record against the Vikings (home), Packers (home) and Bears (away).

Side note: this schedule has made no sense this year. Why are West and East teams criss crossing the country so much in December? Feels like those games should be spread out over the first two months of the season. The Seahawks opened at home against Denver. Feels like that could have been played in December to ease travel.

Ultimately, if the Seahawks go 4-1, it's a wrap. Because it's the Seahawks, and with their remaining schedule, we know that's not happening. 3-2 certainly makes things easier, but it would behoove them to beat the Rams and Bears, at the very least to get to 9 wins and secure some sort of extra tie breaker (the Rams are 2-4 in common opponent games with the Bills and Jets left).

Thinking about the current situation there’s only one path forward for Kirk to start the rest of the season and that’s for someone to remind him he was signed to be game manager and keep it simple. He’s been playing hero ball lately for god knows what reason and he needs to cut that **** out. Maybe those Tampa performances and all the swag surfing got to his head….

We need you to find the open guy and protect the ball not try to thread the needle into triple coverage you are not like that and your body certainly isn’t like that play like it or he needs to sit down.

We owe this dude a lot of money. We might as well ride it out with him but I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing what Penix can do. After 3 INTs, we should have put him in but the game was still winnable so I get it.

Perfect scenario Penix doesn’t have to play this year but that’s contingent on Kirk getting his **** together or we blow this division. If he don’t do that the plug needed to be pulled after next week or during that game. One thing for sure though the plan needs to be going into next season Penix is the starter, either see if a desperate team will trade for Kirk or if not let him be a expensive backup for a year and cut him end of next season the dead cap hit isn’t astronomically if we do it then. That’s why they structured the contract the way they did. We planned for this just don’t deviate from it.

Also get Pitts tf outta here no more excuses. I’m tired of seeing some fans elsewhere saying “what if he looks good somewhere else” who gives a **** it’s not working HERE one way or the other after two different staffs with him.
