even if these things are damn near impossible to get without spending a load of money on, it's one of the few shoes in recent years that have gotten me excited. love looking at pics of these and i wish i could get a pair of the racers.

I hope you get the chance to get a pair of racers Kev. They are my favorite shoe of the year. I've been watching the one pair of orange racers on eBay and unless this guy has got someone bumping his auction these are going to give him a huge payday. Makes me feel like I got a steal on my pair.

the more i look at the racers, the more i want a pair now. if the opportunity presents, i might have to bite the bullet. hope they make some kind of definitive announcement on a wider release or i might end up dropping cash that i should be saving [IMG]

There's much less orange pairs available than the blue, so I dont think it's a realistic comparison for pricing. Collectors know these will be harder to obtain. The first pair on ebay had a BIN of over $1000 w/ the exchange rate, and it sold pretty quickly (850 GBP to be exact, ~$1379. not even free shipping lol, 40 GBP more to US). ridiculous. Hell of a payday for that guy that managed to grab three pairs. Kev, I dont see you paying that much, but I know you'll be watching for 27cm pairs listed in jp lol...

sorry but i dont think this is true at all.  aside from the possible variable of the u.s. olympic team wearing the blues at the opening ceremonies it would make zero sense for there to be "much less" of the oranges considering they both had the same type of release.  i believe that in this case most of the people who bought the initial ones wanted them for what they are and not for their value thus not much reselling going on.  except for the LEECH with three pairs.

I watched every pair that popped up on eBay of the USA colorway and every seller stated the colorway was given to the Olympic team and Tokyo, London, and NY each received 12 pairs for retail.  I have no idea if that number is true, but that is what the various sellers ran with, I think there were like 5 pairs of the USAs for resell via eBay.  The seller states in the auction that there were 100 pairs worldwide of the orange pairs.  I'm only going by the numbers provided.

sorry, i was going by earlier information someone posted that there were only 50 pairs of orange racers made, compared to 100 blue. if they were both runs of 100, then im stumped why the orange are going for so much.

There was 4 to 6 pairs of the orange racers for sale in London. So probably between 4 and 10 pairs there total. None went up for sale in NYC, but I assume they got between 6 and 10 pairs too. If the same can be said of Milan and Tokyo, then there would be a total of between 24 and 40 pairs. Isn't 24 pairs classed as a hyperstrike?
Having said that, I guess there could have been a 100 pairs and all but a few were given to 'tastemakers'.
It's just plain ridiculous that one person can have scored so many of the few to resell and really boils my blood, especially as in the US, no one had a chance to even buy the racer.

i find that to be laughable.
the size 11 is going to sell for over $1500 [IMG]

it's actually cool to see so few pairs of these on ebay. if there were only a hundred pairs of galaxy foams, 98 would have been online the next day. even with a big profit to be made, people are obviously keeping the shoe either to wear or keep/collect [IMG]

    or to resell later [IMG]

I was told last night that the GR version of the racer and the trainer, plus some other models utilizing the fly knit (lunar glide 4) will release on July 1st.

Been waiting since February. It wouldn't hurt to wait two more months if they are releasing them on July 1st [IMG]

@ILLustRAYt and GUSH, that's Jason Lester's pair. He's Nike's Better World Ultra Endurance athlete and he's running/biking across the States from NY, down to ATL, over to Arizona, and back up to Oregon. He talked about his shoes in ATL and it's a Flyknit upper with the old Lunar Trainer midsole/outsole. Said he works with them in the Kitchen to whip up something that will last so he's not changing his shoes every 100 miles or whatever. The first time he changed them was on his way down to Atlanta from one of the Nike Outlets so basically he wore one pair from NYC to North Georgia. Things are dope AF in person

^ i dont agree with that but to each their own...i feel that the racers showcase the full potential of knit technology(not to mention the colors used thus far) which is why they appeal to me first...

i don't understand why anybody would be excited for the flyknit trainer...it's the same damn tooling they've been using for a few years now, why the hype? get a pair of lunar trainers and enjoy basically the same ride honestly...should be just as excited to try a pair of trainers with the 2009 air max setup, or the 24/7s....  [IMG]

the flyknit runners though...now that's where the $$$ is. you get a new upper, a new midsole cushion setup, and a whole new experience honestly....

i'm always a sucker for new tech....if these are anywhere as comfy as the lunar racer was for running[IMG]

^ Horrible reasoning. Using that faulty logic people shouldn't care if its an Air Jordan IV or Flight 89, an Jordan 3 or Air Revolution.

Sure they might be the same ride, but for the most part people on NT are looking for looks.

Both the trainers and the runners are sick.

That's pretty awesome, info on the running pants though...

I actually may be running a bit with Jason Lester up at Pismo Beach in June as he runs to the Pismo Factory Store for an event during his daily break from the "Journey For a Better World" trip.  This guy Lester seriously has an amazing story, so I hope my manager stops slacking and gets me on that short Pismo run ASAP; maybe I can have the opportunity to have a short conversation with him.

    daaz, I get that.

I loved Lunar trainers...(always on the look out for 11's)

I think that is why I am excited for these.

Agreed on Lunar Racers though, I'm not a runner by any stretch of the word.

The look of these has me most excited, I haven't really followed this thread, anywhere for me to find them?

daaz, like i've told other people, i think the outsole is the same so the cushion is the same. i don't know if it's placebo but the flyknit uppers feel nice on the foot and the uppers are something you need to see irl to appreciate.
