Republicans really need saving from themselves. people not only wanted the Griddy pricing model, they *****ed and moaned for years about its unavailability

I sense a lot of the customers are small businesses trying to avoid paying the fixed price risk premium who just didn’t think this kind of thing could happen. some may be on 3 month contracts taking a fixed price in the summer and Griddy the rest of the time

It should have never been allowed. you can't reasonably expect people to understand the wholesale power market and risks involved. and those that do are still creating an unnecessary risk that ultimately gets shouldered (at least in some part) by taxpayers

Sinema is clearly the dumbest Democrat holding office. While she claims she will never vote to end the filibuster, and is not open to changing her mind, Republicans are rigging the system so she can lose in 2024.

She cares so much about appeasing moderate whites; welp I hope they can save you when Latino and Native American voters are cut off from voting unless they are willing to stand in line for hours during a work week.

You won't even vote to give them $15 minimum wage, but you expect them to go above and beyond for you.

She also is making it impossible for Mark Kelly to retain his seat. Will her love of "bipartisanship" supercede common sense that if they keep the filibuster, they won't have anything to talk about in terms of promises kept/legislative accomplishments when they start campaigning again? Arizona GOP (like the rest of the party nationally) has lost their minds, and maybe she needs to come back to AZ to see how bad it is since she was elected over McSally...I don't get it.

People like Sinema and Manchin are either dumb or stubborn to a fault. Possibly both but I’ll go more with dumb.

The rules of engagement have changed. Hell they only got 7 votes from the GOP to convict Trump despite everything being there for a conviction. And on top of that the GOP senators who voted to convict have been ostracized within their own party.

The GOP is always going to vote within party lines regardless of whatever cookie cutter remarks your Susan Collins and Jeff Flakes make publicly, so it’s stupid AF for Sinema and Manchin to act disruptive from within and cause barriers that hurt their parties own cause.

They don’t need to agree with everything the Dems are pushing for, but they also need to be smart enough to realize that they’re ultimately going to get more favorable results and things that align with what they want when those within their own party hold power than they would with the GOP in charge. Arguing semantics and voting against stuff your party is trying to pass when you have the most razor thin of margins is just stupid destructive behavior. Especially when the opposing party had ideologies and views that are the polar opposite of the party you’re in.

Dems like Sinema and Manchin need to get it through their thick skulls that “bipartisanship” doesn’t mean the Dems being expected to always be the ones extending the olive branch in the rare occasions they hold power all while when the GOP holds power (through gerrymandering and voter suppression) the mindset is winners make policy, losers go home.

For someone like Manchin, a Senator from a deep red State without a large BIPOC population, maybe supporting an end of the filibuster and subsequently passing a new voting rights act will harm his own political prospects. But I wish he’d consider two things:

1.) He’s not up for reelection until 2024. Even if the median voter in WV doesn’t want a him to end the filibuster or vote for a new VRA, plenty of things can change before 2024 and his votes in 2021 are old news, politically.

2.) maybe ending the filibuster and passing the VRA will sink his re-election chances. Then fall on your sword for your party. Your party will be in such a stronger position, overall, with a VRA. You’d be trading your Democratic seat in exchange for Democrats picking up 6-10 seats by 2026.
