Hate to be insensitive but this was totally preventable. The gun debate really isn't a debate, it is between right and wrong and this is wrong. Shame that the 4 year old didn't have his own yappa to finish things with his brother. We need more guns not less.

The Acting Director of National Intelligence has responded to a subpoena demand to turn over a whistleblower complaint to Congress. The intel community's Inspector General described the complaint as "credible" and "of urgent concern", however the Acting DNI is overruling him and tries to argue that the Inspector General was wrong. The complaint involves "persons outside of the intelligence community" and the Acting DNI argues it contains "potentially privileged" information, suggesting it is related to an adviser to the president or Trump himself.

Maguire also consulted the DOJ, which appears to have signed off on the continued stonewalling in violation of the law that requires IC whistleblower complaints to be turned over to the congressional Intel Committees within 10 days after being received. The ODNI is trying to argue that they don't have to turn it over, and will not turn it over, because the complaint relates to someone outside of the intel community and does not involve an intelligence activity under the DNI's supervision.

The Inspector General personally requested to turn over the complaint to the congressional Intel Committees but was overruled by Trump's lackey.
