Micheal Steele really went against da grain of da BBC (biscuit boy crew) smh
Funny story - he was my mentor in elementary school (I was a bit of a knucklehead) and I saw him for the first time in 20 years at a baseball game last summer ... Very down to earth, religious and steadfast human being ... You can't find a better guy / family ... He was actually kicked out of the RNC because he wasn't willing to be a full politician, party and strategy above all else ...

Guiliani: "he was disappointed, almost like a father who was betrayed by his son."

What makes me sad is everyday is a bombshell. Each one of these things are Career Ruining things for any other politicians. If not for Trumps strength of the Republican base and Republican politicians being so scared to be voted out that they wont do the right thing he would have BEEN gone. We have become Numb to all of this

This Attitude is gonna extend into the next few presidency. We all are gonna be like Oh the President had Hookers in the Oval? Ok Trump had spies from Russia so thats not too bad.

Unless we have only republican or "independent" presidents going forward this won't happen. No way they would let half of what trump has done slide if it was democrat.

He or she would be gone for not showing taxes or never fully divesting from their businesses. The fiscal conservatives would miraculously re-appear and raise hell if dem wasted money like da orange clown has.

The words which keep popping up in my head are “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”. Now I’m by no means condoning what Clinton did - in fact with the benefit of time it was clearly an enormous abuse of power and he should have been criticised for it (but impeachment proceedings were probably not appropriate).

But, compare that to the numerous episodes of way more ridiculous things that Donny has done over at least 20 years and that pales into insignificance. They’re not even refutable - they’re on tape - and in the current era of #metoo it’s bizarre to me that they’re not a bigger deal.

The only conclusion I can draw from that is that the Republican Party quietly condones those actions as they’re all up to it themselves.

Thanks for the story

The one good thing about these Republicans is that because they're all Ayn Rand disciples and individualists to the extreme, they'll all sing like a bird when the **** hits the fan and any loyalty to anyone will be flushed right down the toilet in an attempt to save themselves. This will be fun.

Looks like things with the investigation will start ramping up just in time for midterms. Almost seems like that was the plan all along.
it was.

I feel confident that Obama knew about most of this before he left office. There's likely evidence that hasn't been leaked yet that will be the nail in the coffin. But it has come at the cost of 1-2 right wing Supreme Court justices.

Some of the things that make me scratch my head is at how crazy die hard trump supporters are. this popped on my reddit feed and i took a look at the comments. Lots of talk about the magnificent GDP and how "the media" said it would never happen, and the economy is "booming" but not one mention of wages and how people arent making more money despite the GDP growth

So they really used colorful flash cards to explain trade policy to the manbaby...

The second hand embarassment felt from just reading the story is real

Juncker is a bit of a kook to say the least but he's not an idiot. Most foreign leaders and diplomats have probably figured out by now that someone coming to Trump with detailed factual explanations, statistics, ... is gonna have a hard time getting anything through to him. Keep it simple and use lots of big bright drawings to catch his attention and have a better chance of keeping his attention there.
And perhaps above all else, flatter the Don. Use flowery language, reference his electoral map etc. every now and then and he'll be a bit more attentive and forthcoming.
The more complicated talks should be reserved for his advisers.

The boss cancelled Trump's premature invite to the White House but he is now ready to invite his subordinate over to Moscow.

Russia's Putin tells Trump: 'Be my guest in Moscow'
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday he had invited Donald Trump to Moscow and that both he and the U.S. president want further summits, despite the uproar in Washington after the two leaders met in Helsinki last week.
Following the backlash in the United States over Trump’s cordial public tone with Putin at the Helsinki summit, U.S. and Russian officials backed away from a proposal to schedule a follow-up summit in Washington.
But speaking to reporters in South Africa, where he was attending a summit of BRICS nations, Putin said another meeting with Trump was still on the agenda.
“Regarding our meetings, I understand very well what President Trump said. He has a desire to have further meetings,” Putin said.

“I am ready for that. We need for the appropriate conditions to exist, to be created, including in our countries,” Putin told a news conference.

“We are ready for such meetings. We are ready to invite President Trump to Moscow. Be my guest. He has such an invitation, I told him that.”

Putin did not say how Trump had reacted to the invitation to travel to Moscow. The last time Trump was in the Russian capital was in 2013, to attend a Miss Universe beauty pageant.

Referring to the proposal for a meeting in the United States, Putin said: “I am ready to go to Washington. I repeat once again, if the right conditions for work are created.”

Putin said that, in the meantime, it was possible that he and Trump would meet on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Argentina in November, or at another international event.

In an apparent reference to the backlash inside the United States after Trump’s performance at the Helsinki summit, Putin said: “Despite the difficulties, in this particular case difficulties linked to the internal political situation in the United States, life goes on and our contacts continue.”

TRUMP CRITICIZED
After the Helsinki summit, Trump was criticized at home for failing to publicly confront Putin over Moscow’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election, and for seeming to contradict his own intelligence agencies on the threat from Russia.

Relations between Russia and the United States have been fraught because of rows over Russia’s annexation of Ukraine, and allegations — denied by Moscow — that the Kremlin meddled in the 2016 presidential election to help Trump win.

Both Trump and Putin have said they are determined to improve relations. However, efforts to achieve a detente have been fiercely resisted by the U.S. lawmakers, including some in Trump’s own Republican Party, who accuse him of being too friendly toward Putin.

Speaking in Johannesburg on Friday, Putin made a case for better ties, saying that the world was a safer place when Moscow and Washington were talking to each other.

“In Helsinki, we talked about the issues in which our states have a real stake. In 2021, the New Start treaty expires,” he said, referring to a nuclear arms control treaty.

“Are we going to extend it or not? Russia and the United States have a stake in that, the whole word has a stake in that, in not starting an arms race. If we don’t start talks in 2021, the treaty will cease to exist.”

“Yes, we have contacts on a working level, but sometimes that’s not enough, we need contacts at the highest political level,” Putin said.

Turning to efforts to resolve conflicts in the Middle East, Putin said: “Will we talk about these issues at the highest political level, or do we think it’s a secondary issue? I don’t think so - it’s not a secondary issue.”

He said the international deal on Iran’s nuclear program, from which Trump has withdrawn, was also an area that needed U.S.-Russian dialogue.

“It’s a subject for debate and negotiations. How can you have these if they don’t exist? There are some things you can’t do over the phone.”
