Well that settles it. I sure wonder why Trump didn't fire Sessions but pressured him into resigning him instead, thus allowing him to use the Vacancies Act to overrule the regular line of succession to appoint Whitaker as Acting AG.

It takes some extraordinary mental gymnastics for these people to argue with a straight face to these judges that Trump has absolute immunity from any criminal investigation. Somehow they never thought of that when Trump was under criminal investigation by Mueller, nor when he was under criminal investigation by SDNY and actually named by prosecutors as the person who directed the criminal conspiracy Cohen and AMI pleaded guilty to.

There's a good reason the SCIF bans all electronic devices. It's to safeguard the most sensitive information and prevent foreign intelligence from listening in through electronic devices, as well as more broadly avoiding any potential national security complications that could come with such devices.

FBI should probably sweep the place and confiscate all of those Republicans' devices for a security check. I don't know if they could be subject to any criminal violations but in any case, they wouldn't have any argument that they didn't willfully/knowingly violated national security protocol. Everyone knows you can't bring any electronic devices to that room, much less a phone.

A logical extension of that argument is that he could also massacre all journalists he doesn't like with full immunity.
