***Official Political Discussion Thread***

Link to the interview?

What do you mean with the Sowell comparison?
-It is on his YT channel.

It didn't want to get into this last time because I know since you like dude you might take this personal, which I didn't want. But I compare him to Sowell because he serves the same purpose for many white leftist than Thomas Sowell serves for many white conservatives.

They are vessels either side uses to **** on black liberals (especially affluent ones), especially when they want the slander to be extra strong. They also use him handwave liberals discussing race issues in a forceful way. Conservatives are dismissive by saying people are playing the race card, leftist are dismissive by calling every race reductionist. So a ton of white leftist, like white conservatives, don't have see the error or the ways, or do proper self reflection of how they come off, or how they could be wrong, or how condescending they maybe, because hey, look, this black man agrees with me.

- While Reed is not the jackass Sowell is, like Sowell and even Cornel West says a lot of low key petty sucka **** from time to time

Plus during one of the interviews he join in on ****ting on Stacey Abrams (Brooks for some reason looks ****ting on Abrams now) because she said in some interviews she would make a great VP, apparently that makes her desperate. Reed make some comment that if she doesn't get VP she can go write some more softcore porn novels. When he and everyone damn well ****ing knows she has been spending her time trying to protect black people's voting right.

That is some *** **** plain and simple in my book.

I'm black, first.

At this point in time dwalk31 dwalk31 is nothing more than Scott Templeton from The Wire to me. Just another average, ordinary, run of the mill white guy making up lies to tell his story. Instead of The Baltimore Sun however, dwalk31 dwalk31 better known as Scott Templeton uses Niketalk as his choice of publication.

Just like Scott Templeton I’m not sure if dwalk31 dwalk31 is doing this to win a Pulitzer Prize or some type of award....but either way we know he’s claiming to be black with ill-intent. His actions and more importantly his words are detrimental to black society. dwalk31 dwalk31 goal and sole objective to be here on NT is to make black people a permanent underclass in this county. I’m here to let him know that won’t happen as long as I’m here, I promise him and the boards of that.

When dwalk31 dwalk31 saw the lynching of Ahmaud Arbery, he didn’t see himself as Ahmaud Arbery or feel some type of connection with him, like myself and other black people. No, dwalk31 dwalk31 saw himself as a member of the McMichael family......a vigilante white guy out on a personal agenda against any and all black people.

I don’t care how many times dwalk31 dwalk31 gets a tan, how many photoshops he posts, or how many professional make-up artists he uses. dwalk31 dwalk31 better known as Scott Templeton is and will NEVER be black. I know it and deep down in his heart of hearts............Scott Templeton who goes by dwalk31 dwalk31 here on NT knows that!!

Sounds like the goofy thing Biden told Charlamagne....

Guess everyone who doesn't support Biden over trump "ain't" black.

I'm not going to go back and forth with you re: my blackness.

I've said what I needed to on it. Regrettably posted pics, etc.

I almost just reported you (would have been a first for me on NT in all the time I've been here).

But honestly, I don't want to take whatever joy you get from this weak persona away from you.

Have fun.

Oh interesting...
I disagree with that.

Are there some Trump supporters who don't take it seriously? Sure.

Are there some Democrats who don't take it seriously? Sure.

There are flat-earthers, conspiracy theorists, and anti-vaxxers on both sides of the aisle.

But you think daily press conferences on COVID-19, with death tolls, gave the impression that nothing serious was going on?

I watched them all and I did not get that impression.

I do not agree with what he said. While we, you and I, may disagree politically, I know way too many brothers like you, as my college roommate spoke exactly like you. He was a brother who had a 3.8 gpa, hated hip hop, as Eric B and Rakim were too radical and Black acting, then had rather listen to ZZ Top and Huey Lewis and the News. ( I know, dating myself lol) He was about that paper, then thought that he could only get that paper, through totally immersing himself into the white establishment. He came from some seriously impoverished conditions while growing up in Newport News, Virginia. With his roommate being a touted athlete from Brooklyn, it was a culture shock to us both. But it taught me that brothers like him, only saw one option for success, especially while only seeing such failure and poverty around him while growing up as he did. I thought I had it rough growing up in BedStuy, with all of the crime and such, but there were times that this dude went to bed, not being able to wake up because he was too hungry to do so.

That said, do you. Dudes come at my neck on here because apparently, I am TOO Black.

Let that sink in.....:lol::lol:

Man the black experience is diverse, no doubt.

Like you said, we may disagree politically but I know people that talk just like you. And for good reason. That's how early on I at least acknowledged that perspective.

There is also a unique black experience for black men over 6 feet and I think, based on your posts, that you (like me) understand that as well.

Oh, I scare the shi' outta white people. 6'4, cut up, well above two forty, I get the 'roids commentary and that I must be some body guard because I look so mean. I am not a grinning kneegrow.

The college roommate that I spoke of, was a short dude, about 5"8. Dead on Reagan Republican, bootstrapped jackass, as I used to call him.

I overall like Adolph Reed although he does focuses on class, rather than race, more than I do. I agree with him that capital does select affluent black people, who are critical of white supremacy but supportive of capitalism, it amplifies their voices, at the expense of more radical and anti-capitalist black people, in order to manufacture consent among affluent white liberals. Even with black radical voices being drowned out, leftist, especially white leftists, need to seek those voices out and not allow themselves to be content with only hearing one black radical's perspective.

Reed is good but there are other black intellectuals out there and we, on the left, shouldn't use Reed to just bash liberals. Engage with the totality of his work and also seek out others' perspectives.
