Yah but they don't need a massive break from black voters to really hurt democrats down ballot.

a little bit on the margins and it's problem.

it's clear to me republicans have much more upside with black voters, but the need to capitulate to racist base probably hard caps them a bit.

I see what you're saying in the first part of your quote, but the latter doesn't make sense to me. The GOP don't have any upside at all with Black voters. But honestly, the reasons haven't changed much since the 70s, word to this article from Leah Wright Rigeur:

They don't have any semblance of an outreach message or serious plan to enrich the lives of Black folk whatsoever. The Platinum Plan was their only "attempt" and it was clearly a last ditch effort to pull low info people in. Those, along with the temporarily embarrassed millionaires of the Black community, who somehow think that doubling down on false promises of capitalism (through table scraps from the GOP's "plan") was a decent trade-off for the head of the party winking and nodding to white nationalists made up some of that exit poll swing.

Damn. Not surprised, but damn.

Wealthy people have no issue giving tens of thousands of dollars to bail out a **** face that murdered protestors but will go crazy if the government wants a little more money from them to help the less fortunate Americans. What a world

It’s crazy bro. Imagine if every celebrity gave a million to a worthy cause. That would improve the whole.

donald trump could’ve been one of the greatest President of all times if he put his money and resources towards good, built affordable homes, and used his power for the greater good.

Theres 2000 billionaires in the world. If each them donated 1% of their fortune, they could contribute like $20 billion+ (just underestimation because dudes like Bezos have way over $1b) but we can't have that. Let homeless people die in the street bc that's socialism

Since we're going deep into hypotheticals, let's also pretend, he has actual money and resources and wasn't subsidized by Deutsche Bank.

man, **** all that...he could have been more notable than most just by selling $25 MAGA masks all year.

like, make money, save lives, protect the economy, AND make big brain tremendous President man.

**** will blow my mind for the rest of my days, the people in his ear had to be straight up evil.

...and that´s the difference between charity and proper taxation.

proper taxation takes that decision out of their hands. you have, so you give. by law.

yet another reason libertarianism is capitalist fan fiction.

but thats my point

despite not having " any semblance of an outreach message or serious plan"

as lame as the platinum plan is or the HBCU thing, or the photo ops with rappers

it seems like it pretty much worked. Donald trump improved his margins in swing state cities with large black populations. im guessing hell have done better with black voters than any recent GOP politician.

imagine if you had a less clumsy. smarter GOP politician, who made even more specific appeals to the black community...

seems to me no reason an even smarter populist conservative politician couldn't get more than Trump.
