Seen about 100 copies of the special edition at the liquidation store. Was gonna buy one but so many copies I expect a better discount soon.

You can do it solo.... all u need is a fishing pole.... grab 2 nothern pikes... put one on the horse...
Now all y have to do is put the other one on the horse and pick the one on the floor... put that one on the horse and pick up the other on the floor and keep replacing em.... I dont know what the max is... but I do 100 each time... so that's 800 per fishing session lool ... I'm sure it wont last too long

Red Dead Online players jumping into the game yesterday and today have discovered something terrible and strange: Piles of burned horse carcasses outside some towns, like Valentine. Many are surprised to find these piles and it seems to be the result of a newly discovered duplication bug.

The first reports of this disturbing bug popped up Saturday night and since then across Reddit and Twitter, players shared images and stories of the dead horse piles. Some players reported the glitch to Rockstar support’s Twitter account.

Another player was creeped out by how strange the pile behaved. “You can’t shoot the piles of burned rotten dead horses but if you shoot near them they make loud noises,” explained one Reddit user on PS4 in a post titled “What is this Lovecraftian ****.”

Players seem to believe the strange corpse pile was created by a newly discovered duplication bug, which allowed players to catch one large fish and then using a method involving their horse, clone that fish into their inventory. Some are reporting this bug might have been partially fixed via a hotfix or server-side update from Rockstar. A few players are pointing towards empty towns and a lack of NPCs spawning as a sign of a temporary fix by Rockstar. The idea is they are turning off spawns for animals and NPCs to stop players from abusing any dupe glitch.

But there is no confirmation that Rockstar Games has actually fixed or changed anything in Red Dead Online. I reached out to Rockstar and will update this post if I hear anything back.

While the bug seems to be more prevalent on PlayStation 4, some players are reporting dead horse piles on Xbox One as well.

The horses aren’t just creepy. They are actually causing performance issues as well, with many reporting framerate dips and frequent server disconnects. How much of this is tied directly to the dupe bug and dead horses is hard to say, but it does seem like RDO is less stable right now.

Something similar to this happened earlier this year after players used a dupe glitch to protest an RDO update they disliked.

Loool that is probably due to the duplication glitch....
I was fishing and there was half a horse in the water... creepy as hell...

Man I gotta jump back on this. Was trying to scout all the animals for a bit. Wasn’t even doing missions just scouting and robbing. I forgot the controls so gotta watch some YT vids

New animal glitch online.... kill a panther or cougar for most money....
Kill a 3 star one put it on ur horse... shoot it go to butcher... keep selling the perfect one ... crazy have friends with more than 20k online loool.
High risk to get banned I'm sure... though I dont think anybody got banned recently.... seen rumors online but I dont believe it 4 sme reason

just started a new play through, honestly just as good as the first time

How did you play your first play through?
good guy, bad guy or a mix?
vs. how you playing now

Gonna start my 2nd play through in a few weeks but my first play through I was pretty much a good guy, especially since I did that gold bar exploit, everybody at the camp was greeted and upgraded.

My next play through though i'm going complete outlaw, basically gonna try to be a grifter, gonna avoid shops at all costs, just craft, hunt and fish loot my way through the game

debating on if I should turn off the map this go around also. like most R* games I got the map memorized especially because it isn't fully open for most of the game anyways

that's a good point about the shops, i'm going to try and live off the land as much as a can

I've been watching some peoples playthroughs and it kills me how inattentive some people are
they just hop on their horse and ride it into the ground at full speed everywhere they go
ignoring all the things going on in the environment, you miss out on so many moments that don't show up on the map as a mission or side quest
there's so much going on and people just ride right past it all. They don't pay attention to any of the directives on the screen, they don't eat or wash regularly to keep their cores up, use dead eye non stop, don't spend time in camp listening to conversations the gang members have with each other, requests they might have for you. They pass up missions that are time sensitive and won't appear again. They don't use eagle eye to search houses, pass up lockboxes etc. Don't hunt, (if they do hunt, they just blast everything with whatever weapon they grab first instead of studying the animal and choosing the right one) don't craft, don't use the camp supplies....

So much of the story is missed by passing up this stuff, I don't know how people can enjoy this game by just taking the fastest most straightforward route to the end

Another HUGE upcoming update to online brings specialist roles
Later this summer, the world will evolve again with the introduction of specialist roles – unique paths of progression, each providing their own experience with tailored gameplay elements and benefits that will allow players to become even more deeply connected to their character and the choices they make as they inhabit the world of Red Dead Online. This fundamental change points to the long term future of Red Dead Online – a world where players coexist in an uneasy peace, choosing to band together or striking out alone, fighting to survive in a world full of threats and opportunities as they build a life for themselves on the frontier.

Bounty Hunter
Become a Bounty Hunter for a life of constant action on both sides of the law. A licensed Bounty Hunter can track down targets and capture – or kill, depending on how honorable you are in your pursuits. Occasionally, a nearby player with a high enough bounty can also be a designated target. Progression will unlock special items like a reinforced lasso for extra-tough targets, as well as intricate gun-spinning tricks and advanced tracking skills like the ability to use Eagle-Eye while sprinting, galloping on horseback and many other special skills, items and upgrades.

Trader
The life of a Trader is perfect for burgeoning capitalists as you establish and develop a business from your Camp. Thanks to your trusty companion Cripps’ knowledge of furs, skins and butchery, you’ll be able to take on new opportunities to collect materials and produce valuable goods to sell. Increasing your skill as a Trader unlocks the ability to upgrade your Camp with a Weapons Locker, Stew Pot and even allow any canine companion to warn of impending attacks on the camp. As your business expands, you can gain new skills, improve your satchel or add new assets to your business like hunting wagons to bring in bigger hauls and much more.

Collector
A Collector loves to explore the world for rare and valuable items. Look for a mystic travelling saleswoman in the wild to get started down the Collector’s path, searching for lost jewelry, rare arrowheads and other treasures to sell as individual pieces or highly valuable sets. As you progress, you will gain access to tools that help your search including Refined Binoculars, a Horse Lantern and even a Metal Detector, as well as gaining additional skills to help you seek and discover the world’s greatest rarities.

As you grow into each role, it will evolve and shape your experience within the world and the characters around you, showing other players how far you’ve progressed down the path of each specialist role. You’ll also be able to play and progress across all three roles simultaneously or choose to ply your trade in just the roles of your choice.

There is much more to reveal about becoming a Bounty Hunter, Trader and Collector in the weeks ahead.

Additional Enhancements
And in addition to these roles, the next update will also deliver a variety of new content and improvements aimed at enhancing all your experiences inside the world of Red Dead Online, whether within roles, competitive modes or simply exploring free roam.

Substantial, across the board changes are being made to combat and movement to allow for a more responsive control system that still feels natural. Additional damage reduction to Defensive players is also on the horizon, and the game will now remember your preferred playing style (Offensive or Defensive) when you exit and relaunch the game. There will also be many more lootable items to be found throughout the world, like containers on wagons or the occasional Gold Tooth on an unfortunate soul.

The next Red Dead Online update will also feature the ability to reset your character’s appearance and much, much more.

for whoever is still playing what roles ya'll gonna pick.

it's between Bounty Hunter and Trader for me, I see no point in being a collector

started my replay to kind of get back into things, especially if I like this online update.

I'm doing full bad guy, killing every time I have the option to.
-not buying anything from stores, that includes guns and oil. just gonna craft everything or what I can. I do sell to the butcher for the skins and the fence too
- All food will come from hunting, gathering and fishing, for me and the horse.
-Not doing chores around camp, I don't do favors for strangers, depending on what it is I rob them.
-still debating about paying bounties. I like the idea of someone always chasing me, on top of the gangs that try to rob you throughout the game

It's been fun, the story mode on this game(like most R* open world stuff) is still phenomenal.
Arthur has by far the greatest western voice I've heard in a minute, that drawl he does is perfect.
I'm trying to slow up on this playthrough and go at a snails pace but the YNNEL and that bar fight and the Uncle and girls in valentine missions are the only ones I've done so far, I need that fishing rod.
Right now I'm doing that 4 gunslingers mission, 3 down with Black Belle left.
After beating the gunslinger on the train I took it down to Saint Denis to go to the fence, but these 2 guys started a fight with me and the cops got called on me, they killed my horse and I basically ran while drinking tonics and staying alive, stole a wagon and jetted out of there.
They actually killed my horse so the only gun I had access to was the one I just got off that gunslinger, ish only had 6 bullets:rofl:

I really should've died. during that.

got a $10.00 bounty in valentine
$5.00 in Saint Denis

So far I'm digging online with the new update.

Seems like there's a ****ton of things going on at once.
Right now I'm doing trader and bounty hunter. I hunt while doing the bounty hunter missions capture the bounty and then deliver everything I hunted to Cripps.
They got those random encounters going on while you're riding and a dog came up and tried to get me to follow him somewhere, then I'm getting free roam event alerts.

Been doing maybe an hour at a time, just because I've been pretty tired and its my wife's bday this weekend but tuesday I'll be able to play more extensively because they added a bunch of stuff too, hunting wagons to load up animals, more guns, can edit your characters, camp enhancements etc.
