I would've resigned Buckner and let armstead walk if I knew Hyder gonna play like this

i've read a million variations of this argument but the Colts extended Buckner for an average of 4 million dollars per year more than the 9ers extended Armstead.

In order to resign Buckner and let Armstead walk they would have had to have traded or cut players they still found valuable after the super bowl.

Letting go of Juicecheck or Sherman would have done it, or getting Jimmy G to restructure before this season started but obviously none of that happened.

If we had a time machine we could have gone back and cut/traded Kwon Alexander and Dee Ford after teh SB loss, but at the time they were viewed as key parts of the defense

Armstead just needs Bosa back and he will be a solid contributor as a pass rusher.

He’s still a monster against the run.
