***Official Tattoo Thread: Inked-4-Life Vol.2***

Update?

Thats not a damn blowout. That looked infected man...
Yea, a blow it is when a line spreads. That looks like an allergic reaction, which is know to happen with some red inks.

Yeah, it turned out that I was allergic to the red ink. I contacted my regular artist when I was overseas since he wanted to see it. He told me that it was an allergic reaction and to just let it dry-heal over the next few weeks.

The tattoo healed fine now although some of it is still blotchy probably from the irritation.

Not the best picture but you can see how it healed.

700

glad to see the irritation and raised skin went away...that **** looked gnarly as **** bro.

Do you know the ingredient?

Glad it took care of itself that joint looked itchy

I'm not too sure, but I have heard that it's mostly mercury that makes the ink red. I also believe the ink was made by the arjan himself so it can be a bunch of other ingredients that I'm allergic to.

Odd question... Any of you guys ever get tatted around a tiny mole? Talked to a few docs who suggested not getting a tatt over any moles

I have a couple on my upper arm and want to get started on my half sleeve

I'm sure around it is fine. Just not on it. Post your mole

taken out of context, this might be the strangest post pic request I've ever come across

What's going on everyone? Simple question.

Any one know any great artist in NJ/NYC that isn't gonna be backed up for months? I need a basic piece on my back but I just don't want to wait a couple of months to get something so simple done. Oh, and please, no one in a basement that'll charge me $100. I just don't want to go to my regular artist and pay $500 an hour for this.

For reference, here's what I'm looking to get

Not the words, just the guns and the roses. Thank you.

Im looking for someone in Maryland.

I made an appt through my tattoo guys' assistant that he has and i told them that i needed to reschedule. and his assistant told me its all good.

Now they're saying i was a "no show" so i lost my 150$ deposit. Its cool tho, looking for another person in the MoCo or PG county area?

Yea I went to the convention on Friday to put my deposit down with Nikko. Did you end up going?

A few additions from this last year.

Nice.   I like the realistic, black and white style of these.

When you went to go get these - how did that come about?  Were you like "I want this, this, and this" or did you just have a rough idea, or did you just let the artist sketch something up?

I usually have a good idea of what I want and always bring my own references. I'll usually have a few to choose from so the artist can play around with the idea. 80% of the time we've gone with the references or sketches I brought in. I give them full freedom on all the fillers though.

People seem to think that all the well known artist want complete freedom on a piece. They'd much rather have you walk in with a good solid idea that they can play with and put their spin on it. These guys literally have hundreds of offers from people saying "I really want a tattoo from you. You're welcome to do anything you want!" And these people rarely get a response. I've never had any trouble landing an appointment with an artist I've decided on.

That's actually not bad, depending on the artist.

I can only speak from personal experience, but Eric Marcinizyn charges me $4K for an 8 hour session, and it's worth it.

Dillon Forte charges $5k for a full day session (10am-8pm). His work is ridiculous

I can't even imagine sitting on the chair for that long :smh:

Each of my pieces were about 4hrs and it felt like hell

dharma tattoo in miami springs is good, i dont have any tats but my barber and my boys all get their work there and it looks better than what i see on others most of the time.
