Barwin could possibly play SAM lb spot.. But his value is definitely greater to a 3-4 team

I say trade him.. Vinny and graham would be our starting ends.. And Marcus smith might have a role as a pure rusher on passing downs when we would slip curry or graham inside

Hicks is the lock for MIKE and kendricks is the lock for WLB.. Gotta hope kiko is back to his rookie year level

 

Barwin and Jason peters should be moved while they still can get us back something in return

 

Marcus smith is worthless. Release him

 

Maybe he might be useful as purely a 4-3 DE.. That's what he was in college and had double digit sacks..

Think Jerry Hughes when he got put in a system that better suit him.. Not saying I expect that to happen, but at least there is a precedent for it

 

Jerry Hughes was that dude at TCU tho ..Marcus Smith wasn't even ever that good in college

That pick was so bad man

 

Had 16 sacks his last year.. Maybe keeping things simple could work wonders for him

He was never considered an elite prospect. Dude was thought of as a 3rd rounder at best.

Y'all can hold out hope if y'all want. If he wasn't a first rounder dude would've been gone

 

^ to be fair, they had him projected to go in the 2nd..

But we'll see.. Hopefully we can resign vinny for cheap and him and graham are our starting DEs.. We won't be able to get anything for Marcus, so might as well keep him around and see if he can do anything as a 4-3 end

 

I think he'd ball out as a 4-3 DE. Remember Graham wasn't doing anything his first few years and then made an impact

Not sure what exactly to expect.. He's been under Andy his whole coaching career.. At least with gase and mcadoo you can point to stuff

But he only supposedly called plays the latter part of this year..

And going with a Reid underling, Reid was great at game planning.. It was in game adjustments and time management that killed him.. So I'm not totally in love with hiring a guy who would have been protected under that umbrella

Also even with him calling the plays, Reid always scripted the first 10-15 plays.. And as I mentioned before with the offense being his primary responsibility his whole head coaching career.. Again not sure what or how much I'm getting without reid

 

I'm just glad expectations will be low and that should give them leeway to make some needed changes hopefully..

Like letting Bradford and thronton walk, who we can hopefully get comp picks back for.. Trading peters and barwin, while they have value

Cutting some guys to free up salary cap space and just because (kkkooper, sproles, demeco and if he doesn't restructure celek)

Also there is a young guard from KC who will be a free agent (Jeff allen) that hopefully pederson can bring in:
