OK guys/girls. I'm with T-mobile and I have the G2X.

Ok, so me and the fam went to Cedar. We got on a water ride and I gave my girl my phone. It was double bagged but she got bombarded by a waterfall and the bag came open. My phone was damaged in the process. Yada yada, I call the insurance peeps and they say I'm looking at a $130 replacement fee.

Is this my only option and if it is, what can I do with my current G2X?

Cliffnotes: I'm stupid.

Well if the rice doesn't work, how much would getting it repaired run me. Yes I'd have a new phone but I'd hate to see the damaged one go to complete waste.

I hope you didn't try to turn it on after it got wet, that would fry it most probably.

1. don't try and turn it on
2. let it dry in rice for a long period of time
3. if its not operational you can sell it for parts

This. It might take several days to dry in rice, but just leave it in there, maybe even for a week.

I already tried to turn it on smh. Welp I guess its spare parts for now. They just released the update for improve battery life to I think. Loved that phone. The battery life was decent on mine. Even after using the net for a while.
