Whats up NT? I'm having an issue with figuring out what type of lens I should get my girlfriend for her birthday. She has a Canon Digital Rebel XTi. Shejust graduated with a degree in photography and is trying to get into shooting weddings, portraits and sports. I'm wondering what type of zoom lens wouldbe good for her. The most important lens would be one good for weddings. Any help is appreciated. And I'm sure that the more expensive the lens the betterit will be, however my budget for the lens would be around $300 - can I even get a good lens for that much? Thanks for all the help.

For $300 you're better off getting a cheap prime. like a 50mm f/1.4

yeah $300 won't get you much in terms of good lenses. but a prime would be good like santi said. mine never leaves my camera.
