Any one party in Pismo beach before? I am thinking of going out there for my Birthday. If you have any recommendations please let me know. I'd also like torent ATV's and scooters, if you know of any cool places let me know that too..
Thanks in advance yall.

You don't really party in Pismo Beach because it's really tiny. You aren't allowed to have open alcohol containers on the beach and they are strictabout it. You can go to the Dunes and ride around but you really do have to be safe and careful. You always hear about deaths occurring on the dunes because ofsmall mistakes. Whatever you do though make sure you go to Splash Cafe. They have some of the BEST clam chowder in a bread bowl ever! The lines may be longthough but it's worth it!

If you were looking to stay in the area though and have a slightly better time you can always head up to San Luis Obispo. It is more of a party atmospherebecause of the college students. Farmers market on Thursday evenings draws a big diverse group (at least in age). They have a cute downtown area that you canwalk up and down and visit all the shops. There is also a Splash Cafe in SLO that usually has shorter lines if you didn't want to wait in Pismo. At nightthe bars usually draw a pretty good crowd.

Either way there isn't too much to do in the area. You get tired of it really quickly.

west2east pretty much said everything you need to know. i was just down there in february. heres a quick pic.

thats pretty much it to pismo. you definitely have to get some clam chowder at splash. there is a place to shot pool called hotshots there on pomeroy. if youdo plan on going ATVing be careful. all it takes is one mistake and something bad will happen. every summer we would hear some bad news. if you like cheesydiner breakfast, you should check out fat cats in avila beach. simple food with pics of fat cats everywhere. they have photo booths everywhere. if you are withyour lady you should check out sycamore springs in avila beach. its hot mineral spring tubs that are rented out by the hour and just a cool place to chill withyour girl. you'll get over the smell.

lastly is san luis. we would always go to farmers market and walk up and down checking out the booths and the girls. we always ended up at woodstocks pizza, but there are tons of places to eat. if you are looking to drink hit up downtown brew. place was always packed. del the funky homosapien, afroman, and blocparty are playing there this month so you could always look up some shows. my favorite show i saw there was saves the day. if you are into wine, there areplenty of amazing wineries on the central coast. a couple of my favorites are talley vineyard and edna valley.

its a great place to chill and just take it easy. hope you enjoy your time there. any questions feel free to ask.

I forgot to mention to the OP, you can have bonfires at Port San Luis which is right next to Avila Beach. Still no open alcohol containers allowed (legally)but most of the time since it's at night the rangers won't bother you. If they do happen to ride around they'll usually just give a verbal warningas long as you're nice and be on their way.
is pismo beach a good spot to take a vacation with a chick??
I'd say so. It is a nice area, just small. Also Avila Beach is usually the MUCH better beach weather wise. Often times if it's overcast inPismo, it's gorgeous in Avila even though they are seriously a 5 min drive apart. Pismo Beach does draws a younger crowd and Avila draws more families. Also if you are willing to drive a little you can check out what plays are on at PCPA Theaterfest in Santa Maria. They consistently put on awesome shows! Ifyou're willing to drive out even a little more I'd go check out the Solvang PCPA outdoor theater. Solvang is also just a really neat place to check outin general. Also Hearst Castle might be something neat to check out.

The central coast is a gorgeous place to be you just need a car and do some driving to see most of it.

west2east what part of the central coast are you from? i lived in santa maria for about 7-8 years. the pcpa is pretty chill. i went to hancock for a couple ofyears for ecs. man i hate that school. also you can never beat santa maria tri-tip. but when i went to pismo early this year, it wasn't as great as iremember it. still pretty good though. the only two i saw bbqing was the filipino community and the vca bus. my favorite spot to hit up in santa maria is apizza place called marco polos. order their calzone and you'll be in heaven.
