I have been searching for basic demographics for PS3 owners and PSN members for a class project. I even e-mailed Sony to request the information.

Does anyone on NT have any press releases or material that will assist me?

I need to know what percentage of the 25 million PSN members are PS3 owners?
Gender breakdown of PS3 users?
Age and income breakdown of PS3 users?

Any assistance is appreciated.

Yo, do you have any idea how to get better receoption on my PS3 wifi? My wifi modem is on the second floor of my house and the PS3 is in the basement. Ican't get a good connection.

Oh, and I'm a male, 34 and don't worry about my income.

You might need to move the modem to the basement. I had a friend with that problem, and he ended up moving the modem/router closer to his PS3.

Any info you wanna pass back?

100%

Why would someone have a PSN account and not own a PS3...

^^^ Earlier in the year they let Playstation.com members have PSN Id's so the number of PSN members is inflated now...

It's not on the official Playstation website? I'm sure you can find it online somewhere. Did you try Wiki? Best bet is to get the answer directly fromthem though.

nice threadjacking, you got a wireless G or a wireless N? cause ive read that the ps3's WPA-PSK encryption interferes with the wificonnection, so if u got wireless-G coming from a second floor, the ps3's signal will not be great - same thing is happening to mine

might want to think about getting a wireless N if u dont have that already, or like others have said just move the router closer to the ps3

The fact that you can make unlimited profiles on your PS3 also inflates the numbers.

I just had this issue. Make sure all wifi ports are open on your modem, and you have the latest firmware update.

^^^ yea that too.

If I'm not mistaken you can have PSN ID's on your PSP too.

The PSN is just trash sometimes. My signal can be at 100% but sometimes I have a crappy connection guess you truly get what you pay for

Thanks to all and sorry for the thread jacking. I have Verizon Fios and they give you a wifi modem when they hook up the internet. I have a wireless N but ifI hook it up to one of the plugs in the back of the verizon modem nothing works.

Sounds like I gotta get versizon to move the modem.

Thanks.

that is my point. I don't really hear of 360 having as many network issues as PS3. Might have something to do with the fact that it is a servicepeople pay for.

Sometimes it's the game server that you play on. Also, I think some people use some thing called a lag switch or something like that.
