\\ Post Your Car vol. Been a minute //

you also dont know if the vape shop owner bought it with a salvage title or a clean title with like 150k miles. not to sound like a hater, but i dont assume that everyone buys their car new. there are too many fake it to til you make it "car guys" out there.

Just picked the Braptor back up from the detailer. So shiny, now to get some tint on the front

I hate when manufacturers don't color match the fenders. And Ford's excuse is so damn stupid.
It's such a cheap practice from manufacturers. I color matched about 24 mouldings on the Challenger like the the shaker, front lip, side skirts headlight surrounds & a bunch more years ago...worth every penny of the two grand I spent. Looks so much nicer painted rather than left primed. It's weird Dodge doesn't paint them on the Challengers but the Chargers they do paint them. What's Ford's excuse, Is it the high impact bs excuse?

I think they break easily. Good pickup bc the depreciation is wild but who knows how much it’s been abused. Def a stunner tho

That Maserati V8 in particular sounds incredible, but is known for its horrendous resale value. At one point the 2008s-2010s were sub 30k.

And the issue with buying one now, is that you have people who badge floss, and bought them for 40k or so but didn’t realize that the annual service is still 3 grand. (Funny people don’t realize that the parts don’t depreciate like the cars do).
Most of the cars out there at this point likely have long term deferred maintenance.

I’d bet my bottom dollar that the Maserati pictured above has at least 5 years of deferred maintenance. You can always tell how someone takes care of their car when you see some ****ty off brand tires on it. The eBay/Craigslist wheels are another tell

Yeah triangle is the strongest shape but I’m sorry I don’t see any design there. Just trolling. The major thing it has going for it will be absolutely distinctive. Most trucks today look similar with a giant grill.

That said we will see them all over since there’s a huge waiting list. Sigh…..
I get it. For clarity ‘designers’ are tasked with problem solving. For a truck of this type (technically a unibody) stiffness (pause for my NYCers) is paramount for engineering reasons (bend and flex isn’t ideal when encountering the twisting forces encountered in off roading/towing) so a shape like this can in theory go a long way to solving it.

So it’s as designer as it gets.

You’re referring to ‘styling’ which as you observed, objective, and an ever moving mandate. A ‘stylist’ might not like this direction, but in a sea of one box truck designs, this is distinctive. Avant-garde even. This was the sports car environment the Countach launched in as well-and the reception was mixed at first from some members of the design/automotive community as well who didn’t see it as ‘design’. But the public had other ideas.

I think unrefined low-fi styling has its place in some automotive sectors if:

Manufacturers have to continue to add (400 mile range, improved battery tech, more technology, hands free driving, all which +to cost)

I know your comment is made in jest, but ease in manufacturing and cost reduction is a real problem in this space. Cars are incredibly complex things to produce.

It’s our job in part to help reduce these costs. So a simple to assemble shape is an answer to that question. (in Teslas case, how to scale up a large margin/production number product as quickly and inexpensively as possible-all while making a huge visual impact as you are a challenger brand in this space)

The good news is there will be plenty of traditionally shaped GMC/Chevy/Ford/Ram/Hummer EV products to gaze on when you encounter a CT. Your retinas will survive. 😀

Next generation Prius.

I know it’s predecessors received a lot of criticism (rightfully) but this is really a step forward-a lot of the surfacing works in person-even though I need to see this in natural sunlight on the roads.

A big congratulations to the CATY team. Well done considering the circumstances.

It’s crazy to think this is a Prius. I saw sketches and thought it was a joke. It’s been pretty beloved which has shocking to see. Even Ralph Gilles gave it props on Instagram!
