Just curious ....if he is the one behind some of the greatest Jordans ever designed, why doesn't he do design em all?
That's like Mercedes using a guy from Ford .

because others might have better ideas, and his the lead designer of Nike (-correct me if I'm wrong)

tinker did 3-14 i think...and was asked to do the 23...imo cause 15-22 blew donkey balls

If you read Driven From Within, Tinker says that he actually designed the XVI, but he passed it off to Wilson to finish the small details.

There are bigger and better things at Nike than just designing the Air Jordan every year. Tinker has moved up the food chain.

you are correct about 15-22 blowing. outdone by the 2009 though with the high heels

.

Tinker also did the first air max sneaker.

The technical design team gave him a midsole/outsole with a visible air unit (he did not design the visible air unit!!!!!) and he did the rest.

He did the trainer lines and so many other great sneakers. He is an artist with many beautiful pieces, not just Jordans.

Actually, he claims that he did. In an online interview he says he took inspiration from some building's architecture where you could see some of theframework. That's why he came up with the visible air unit. Didn't he also create the hurache?

Don't forget getting to work on things 5+ years in the future with the IK.

well again like they said some designers might have better ideas and sales might believe that the shoe will sell
good thats why they have constant designing contests for kids and stuff. Now they are branching out more to
the college students. Like the melo m6 shoe is garbage to me compared to some of the older stuff. THat shoe was
designed by a kid and the company saw as if the shoe would sell off the shelve in reality it isnt.

they should still get ideas from him. some of these releases suck. p.s. i like the 15s

Tinker is the man...just look at the Air Jordan V......straight fire....best Jordan of all time (in my opinion haha)

If you read "Swoosh: Unauthorized Story of Nike and the Men WhoPlayed There" you'll see that they had already created the visible air unit and gave the product to Tinker.

Don't get me wrong, the man is a genius, but I don't believe him when he says he designed the visible air unit. It took the tech department at Nikeseveral tries to get visible air correct.
