I just tried google but could not find what i am looking for ok so i jus cop a gun yesterday and my questions is

1. when in my car were should my gun be stored?

2. when pulled over should have my gun out and visible or should i wait for the officer to ask?

I would strongly suggest taking some gun safety classes, they will inform you and answer all of your questions.

I believe for number one is that if you don't have a concealment permit the gun and the ammunition should be separated. Like Gun in the glove boxcompartment and the ammunition in the trunk, or the other way around.

And you don't need to tell the police officer anything unless he ask if you have a weapon on you.

Your gun can't be loaded or have the clip in while you're ridin' in the car. You can have your gun in the glove box with the clip in the centerconsole if you want, but the clip just can't be inserted. If you're not licensed to carry, you're not allowed to have it in the car out of thecase. If you ever get pulled over, only tell the cop when he asks "Do you have anything in the car" or whatever, and just inform him "I have afirearm". Like I said, I hope your licensed.

as stated already, Gun in glove box clip in the truck. and tell the officer when he asks.

your question is very broad

1. gun laws vary by state

2. if you have a concealed hand gun permit/ concealed weapons permit and you're stopped wait for them to ask DO NOT just have your gun out

EDIT:
if your state allows open carry then it is probably ok to have your gun out and visible VA has this and i hear of people getting hassled by local cops whoaren't familiar with the state laws so i wouldn't recommend it though

exactly don't just have it out... unless you wanna take a dirt nap and be a headline in the paper at the same time.

Every state has different gun laws so there's no universal answer.

I would strongly advise against having your gun out when/if a cop pulls you over, your intentions might be misread there

....just wait for the officer to ask and tell him or her you have a permit for it.

You do not want your firearm to be visible if you get pulled over.... trust me. That justifies an Officer drawing his/her weapon on you. Anything after thatwhich may seem that you put their lives or others' lives in danger justifies for use of deadly force.

Look up "___________ State Laws for Concealed Firearms". Your state should have something online which breaks down what you need in order to carry(CWP) and what are the regulations for transporting a firearm.

it depends on where you live. but its illegal to have the gun loaded in a car.
youre supposed to tell the officer "hey i have a semi-automatic baretta and two cartridges under my seat"

but yeah.

also as we saw in LA "theyll give you a year for every bullet in the gun" so get a license.

Put it in a locked compartment in your car so police can't search without a warrant.

in Cali the firearm and ammunition cannot be near each other, and the firearm should be in a locked container in the trunk with the ammo in a separate location

btw, anyone wanna up the Firearm thread that BFO started

I was watching outside the lines once, Luke Scott(plays baseball) has the gun in the case loaded, and everytime he stop at light, he pulls it out and lays iton his lap just in case

but that was in texas, so i wouldnt use that an earmark to go by
